Good evening! First of all, thank you for this beautiful theme. My question is how can I change a header photo per page? I can only find the option that each page has the same image, or that the images are routed.
]]>My first wordpress site is just a single blog. The blog is available at But at that main page there is no comments form. If I click on the link “Recent Posts” I get the same blog. But now the comments form is available. How can I have the comments form available at the main site without having to click on the link “Recent Posts” to see the comments form? I want to know if it’s possible to fix below issues I have.
In dark mode (on the phone) the search and the more button that shows the header pages is barely visible. I tried looking up the specific setting in the theme editor but couldn’t find it.
My other issue is that I am using the default homepage setting of showing the post. It shows the whole post instead of a Excerpt and the more button even tho I specified it in the reading section.
Is this something I can fix?
Any help would be appreciated as I really like this theme.
Hi all, love the theme but I’m getting pushback for not being able to put a link to comments at the bottom of a post, rather than at the top. Is there a way to fix this? Has anyone come up with a solution? Any help much appreciated!
]]>Hi, Under Appearance/Customize/Site Identity, one can uncheck “Display Site Title and Tagline”. My expectation is that the black box centred within the header photo holding this text should then disappear. However it is still there (nothing changes). Is this not a bug ? Regards, Niels brandt

When I drop table class completely it looks like expected:

Is it possible to globally reduce the size of post titles in Hemingway theme? How? The font size of the titles on all of my posts is massive compared to the text.

]]>Hello, after updating WordPress the position of the footer-background is in the middle of the page. I tried: “position: absolute; bottom: 0 px”, but with this the text-widgets are going to the footer-background in the middle of page instead of the other way around.
Another problem: the tablet- and mobile-version is`nt shown.

]]>I recently updated my Hemingway theme, which was very out of date. Now my archives pages (tags, monthly posts, etc.) are displaying everything before the “more” link in my posts (here’s an example).
Previously it only displayed the first four lines (here’s an example from archive.org). How can I revert to the old format?
If it makes a difference, I don’t use custom excerpts in my posts.
]]>I’m test upgrading a site which uses Hemingway. They have version 1.54 installed and I installed it on a “dev” site to test upgrading WordPress, PHP, DB, theme etc.
The upgrades on the dev site all worked fine and the theme is now at v2.3.2 .
I started going through all the site pages to check them. I noticed on two pages that in some cases there was a noticeable difference in font size in some linked text. I tried two different browsers. I went into the page editor and looked at each and they are both H5 Lato 13. I can find no difference. Yet it is rendered differently. This is really baffling. I’m guessing it is something in the CSS of the theme?

Hello, I seem to be having a problem at the moment. I was able to change the color of the footer menu with the additional CSS with:
.section.footer { background-color: #000726 !important; }
.footer .widget-content { color: #000726; }
However, I don’t get the upper menu under the header and at the end of my page changed. I think both sections are the main menu. So I have it with me
.main-navigation { background-color: #000726 !important; }
tried. but can’t change the color. The menu stays black. Now I’m at a loss.
How do I get the color of the top menu bar and the final section under the footer changed?

Is there a way to decrease the empty space between the items/lines in the menu directly below the header? I’m not well versed in how to customize and would appreciate help with this so my menu does not take up so much space.

Is there any way to change the size or the placement of the site title and tagline text? It is a bit large and dead center for me. I like to use randomized banner images from my own photography as banner images, and the placement of the text and box are clashing with that idea a bit. Any custom CSS tricks?

Hi. I have a website where i am using Hemingway theme and i have an issue. I want to display the featured image on archive page, not only on singular articles, but i can’t understand and modify the code from content.php to solve the issue.
In content.php is a comment that says “On archive, only output the featured image and title on posts without a post format”. I removed the post format from functions.php and see if the featured image will show on archive.php, but still not working.
I also tried to create a new template using the code from index.php, where the featured images of articles are displayed, but still not working after i set the new template from WordPress admin.
Can you please help me with this problem?

]]>I’m having an issue with the Gallery block. If I try any configuration other than one column, the photos display at about half-column size in a single column with no space between the images. At one column, the images display in the correct size, but again there is no space between the images.
Slideshows display as expected. So do photos loaded as a Jetpack Tiled Gallery.
Under normal circumstances, I would use the Jetpack Tiled Gallery. However, my wife and I plan to do considerable blogging on an upcoming hiking trip where our only devices will be iPhones. So we plan to use either the WordPress app or the JetPack app to post. And neither of those apps (which appear to be identical or nearly so) support the Jetpack Tiled Gallery.
Is there an adjustment or setting that will make Galleries display correctly? Is this a known issue?

I used the Hemingway theme to build my professional portfolio and have been able to get everything tweaked the way I wanted with one exception: my portfolio (built as “posts”) includes a sidebar. Ideally they would show full-width, just as my page templates are set up. Does anyone know how to remove the sidebar from posts? I’m not exactly a WordPress newbie, but I am definitely not a developer by any means.

Not a dealbreaker in any case, if this is not possible. I can probably figure out something to put in the sidebar, but it currently looks strange with a big swath of open white space.
