I recently installed Hoffman on one of my blogs. I like it a lot. (To Anders: thanks for developing it!) I’ve made a child theme version and I’ve done some light customisation to that. One thing I really would like is to have the primary nav menu display beneath the site title and be always visible.

I can’t figure out how to do this. One thing I have done via CSS Hero is to make the current pop-out menu hidden, so right now no menu shows at the top.

Can any one offer some tips on this? Thanks.

I’m having an issue with Hoffman Theme. When I create a page I can see how it will look on mobile devices and it is fine. However when I visit my website on my phone, the page is not optimised for mobiles. I tried deactivating all plugins, but the issue is still there. (Sorry for my english)

I would like to add a Mailchimp subscription form to the “Credits” section of the website. When I add using the Widgets, Footer A/B/C, it adds above the bottom credits section. I’d like it to go on the right next to the menu items, or between the menu and the link to the template creator.

I am using the MC4WP plugin, but I don’t have to as long as I’m able to automatically add people to my audience in Mailchimp

Is there a way I can get categories to only show a preview/excerpt for a post, rather than the whole thing?

In Settings > Reading I have ‘For each post in a feed, include: A Summary’ but that doesn’t seem to have had the desired effect.

First of all, I wanted to say that I really like this theme. I have created a child theme to make some custom changes. For example, the navigation bar is always visible on PC.

But when I navigate from the main page to any other page, the navigation bar moves a little bit. Also the title and the subtitle of my site moves. I suspect it has something to do with the recent posts page, but I don’t know how to solve this. I tried this with several browsers and deleted my cache, but the problem remains. Any idea how to solve this?

I have a problem with the main-menu.

By clicking at the menu, a frame gets around the menu-button.

This problem exists in the following browsers:
Chrome, Opera, Edge
The frame doesn`t exist in the firefox browser.

Since the last Hoffman Theme 2.0 update, the logo is not showing anymore. I did try to update some PHP files but I am not confortable enough with it to find the solution.
I have uploaded the logo and added it in the theme editor but it doesn’t show up on the website.

I’ve been playing with this theme for an ancient site I’m migrating to wordpress.
There are lots of one line galleries, with two, three or four photos.

For some reason the last element was always aligned lower than the other images, or stretched to go lower.

After some research I found the culprit in this CSS rule:

.post-content ol > li:last-child,
.post-content ul > li:last-child {
	margin-bottom: 0;
}

which removes a margin on the last element. I’ve added this rule to my child theme and it’s resolved.

.post-content .wp-block-gallery ol > li:last-child,
.post-content .wp-block-gallery ul > li:last-child {
	margin-bottom: auto;
}

I’m quite sure there’s a better and more elegant way to resolve this, but it’s late.

Meta text showed up on the upper left corner on each page of my website. I tried disabling plug-ins but that did not work. Can anyone help?

LOVE your theme for its simplicity

Could you tell me which css classes I’d have to add css opacity to make the background of the posts opaque or transparent except for the featured image and text, buttons, tables etc. (basically only what is currently white). I want to do this for both the homepage and single posts. Not too concerned with single pages but that would be fine too. I tried a couple different classes but they make the whole inner section opaque including the text and featured image. Would really appreciate any help, thank you and amazing theme btw (literally a perfect match for this site)!

I’m looking to make two modifications to the footer, preferably using the Custom CSS feature rather than editing the footer.php directly:

1. Embedding a Mailchimp opt-in form ABOVE the footer menu. (I think it would look sleek in the all-black footer)

2. Removing “Theme by Anders Norén.”

Love the theme and am working on a new site using the theme. During the setup I noticed that many kind of input fields have a nice styling provided by the theme.

Sadly the HTML5 input field type of “email” is missing the styling. Would be a tiny change to add email. Specially because password and tel already have styling.

When you get a 404 error in Hoffman, it lets you search. But this function isn’t part of the main theme. Is there a way to add this to the header, like many themes?

I adopted the hoffman-theme for our kindergarten website but I’m not sure how the flexslider works for featured images (like seen here: https://andersnoren.se/themes/hoffman/the-life-and-works-of-dieter-rams/).
How do I add multiple featured images to one post (or perhaps there is something different to do for activating the slider)? Unfortunately I didn’t find any helpful tips online.
I would also love to have the slider for featured images on top of static pages, do I have to adapt the themes for this purpose or does this work the same way?
I would really be happy about help.

The language switcher flag and name don’t align within the navigation menu any more (neither on the top navigation, nor on the bottom navigation).
It used to display perfectly fine before.

I’d like to use the theme in another language, but I see no traces of localization support. No POT file, no languages folder. Does Hoffman support translation of the theme? I only need a POT file, I will do all translation myself for my site.

Am I missing something? Could you please point me in correct direction. Thanks in advance.

I have a question if it possible to add custom icon in the social media menu, I would need an icon for our bandcamp page.

I like very much this theme but don′t get to add pages to the menu.
Customizer show the name of the menu and the six pages contained but I can′t click on them. They don′t exist (?)
Can anybody help?
