I keep returning to this theme. Fast, well designed, updated. What is not to like? Perfect theme for a simple blog out of the box. I like that it doesn’t load massive thumbnails by default and wreck page-load times. More themes should do this in an age where a lot of people use mobiles and pagespeed is important.

Beautiful, but hard to customize. Sidebar – can’t remove the “recent posts” or reorder pages. Adding logo removes the title (I expected it would be over the logo). Background image doesn’t work at all. Not sure how to translate that fixed headers (Pages and so) to other languages. Removed!

I wish to warn all readers, if you are currently using Iconic One version 1.4.8, DO NOT UPATE IT! Version 1.7.8 was never properly tested before it went into production. As usual, WordPress is in a great big hurry to make updates to everything and they don’t take the time to make sure that an update is properly tested before it goes into production. Version 1.7.8 will wipe out your menu the minute you install it! Keep the old version! DO NOT INSTALL THE UPDATE!!!

After trying dozens of themes, I am still not satisfied and have yet to find an appropriate theme I wanted. Once I saw a website with the look simple, good, and according to the design style that I wanted. I’m looking out the theme used the website, until at last I know that the theme used is “Iconic One Pro”. I tried the theme “iconic one”, and I love to design simple, fresh, nice, clean. Theme is good, no doubt however i have notice that somehow their Link added on Footer every time.
I removed outbound link and added custom text on footer.php, but it rools back automatically in every 4 to 5 days.
Update — I notice that they not added the links manually, but its in their settings that whenever new version of WordPress will be updated, the footer link will be added.

Tab menu does not work – tabs are not active when you are in a category. This is the case for most, if not alle WP themes. But is still breaks usability Guidelines. Other than that, it is a fine template. But the menu is such an essential a part, I hope they will find a solution for this.

I run the site newtonetflix.net and I started with this theme. It’s amazingly simple in all the best ways. It loads super quickly and the simple things I needed to add in didn’t take me too long to find. My only complaint is that I can’t adjust the widths of the columns as I would love to have some of the larger google analytics links in the site.

I decided to use this theme after seeing it used by more than one high traffic monetized/commercial blogs, thinking if they have chosen this theme it must be for good reason, sure enough it was with good reason.
Personally I am customizing the iconic one theme as a project for myself to learn code and to help a friend out, and I have to say that the support from the theme developers themselves whilst I blunder about in my word press dash board is excellent,I give it a 10/10 and would recommend, even to my mum!

Honestly I tried google pagespeed test on a totally bare naked site and the pagespeed was rather poor.
For Mobile speed was in the red 63/100. And for desktop speed was in the orange 72/100. Not the 96/100 as advertised.
You still need the usual BS optimization to get the pagespeed up in the green acceptable level according to Google.

Read more does not work as expected. The auto insert works, but no read more if you add a more link in the editor. Also if you have code or a link below the first paragraph, it gets bunched up in the excerpt on the main page and no read more link is provided if I insert <more> before the link or short code ??
Five stars when that is fixed. I can fix it but I shouldn’t have to fix it. Write a short article with a short paragraph, insert two un-formatted urls below the paragraph and you will see the problem. Now insert <more> below that short first paragraph, it still no work.
