Hello,
I have a mp4 video in a HTML figure tag (inserted as an ordinary Video block in the block editor) which is displaying correctly in the admin, but not on the front end. When I load the page, I can see the video for a very brief moment, but then it disappears.
When I check the page source via ctrl+U, I can see the video in the figure tag:

<!-- .entry-content -->Something must be pulling the div out of the DOM. Either the CSS ::after which is located before the closing </header> tag, or something in the theme’s JavaScript files.
How can I debug this?

this theme loads Google Fonts via Google’s servers instead of serving them locally.
This transmits the visitor’s data to Google without being asked, which is a violation of the GDPR and leads to a real wave of legal notices and penalties at the moment.
Can the theme be adjusted so that it can be used again without fear of prosecution?

Thank you for this amazing theme. I’ve a minor problem though. When viewing the portfolio, some of the images get displayed without margins and the title of the image on top is not shown. In other words, images get ‘glued’ to each other. If I refresh the browser page, a new set of images display incorrectly.
This happens on desktop mostly. On mobile view sometimes there’s a lag after which a space is inserted between the images and the image title becomes visible.
Any way to resolve this please?

]]>Hello! I’ve managed to get rid of the portfolio item pink hover box with some CSS help. However, as you can see, when I use a transparent image as my featured image, it comes out over a pink background. How do I eliminate this OR make it a white background? I don’t want to have to make and upload jpg copies of all of my transparent pngs, although I will if that’s the only option. Also, I would like to change the hover color of the up arrow (which brings up the footer) to fdd52e, if possible. Thank you!!

1) change the hover colour of the “+” triangle that expands the footer section
2) change the hover colour of the menu button that expands the navigation links at the top of the page on mobile

]]>I’m trying to add product reviews to my store, and instead of showing up in a “reviews” tab like some other examples, it simply turns comments on (with no option to star-review products, even though I have that option ticked) and the comments show up under related products.
Is there any way (or any code I can add) that will make comments show up as reviews with star-ratings, and in the tabs along with “description” and “additional information”?

]]>When the screen becomes too small (i.e. if I restrict the browser window, or if I open my website from mobile) the menu becomes an hamburger (?). I want to know how to do the following two things:
Change the default status of the menu from the “not toggled” status (when you can only see ?) to the “toggled” status (when you can see the whole opened menu, and tapping on ? closes it).
Change the symbol from ? to another, perhaps something like “? MENU” or perhaps an entirely different thing.
How can I do these things? If it helps, I am using the Illustratr theme.

I’ve recently started experiencing a strange bug with the portfolios on my art website. When opening a portfolio page (such as this one), the gallery of images looks normal and any edit I make to it updates it accordingly, but when clicking on a picture to open the “carousel” view, the pictures displayed in full-size are not the same. I suspect these different images correspond to the initial content of the portfolio folders, which I’ve updated many times since then, but I’m not absolutely certain.
When I try creating new portfolio folders with contents similar to the ones I already have, the preview is either stuck on the “generating preview…” page forever, or the gallery displays fine but the carousel view corresponds to different pictures (the same as those of the page I linked above, actually).
I unfortunately have no idea what could cause this issue (WordPress, Illustratr, me being bad with a keyboard…?), so I would really appreciate any tips or help.

I am using Illustratr for several blogs. On some of my installs, the option to add a logo image is not available while on others it is available. I’ve tried re-installing the theme several different ways including manually via FTP, disabling plugins, deleting cache, etc.
On some installs I simply do not have the option of adding a logo! I’m stumped.

]]>I have two sites using the Illustratr theme. The new site is on WordPress 5.4 and the previous site is still on version 4. When I create a post and choose the gallery format, I would like the gallery that I create at the top of the post to show up above the title, in the same place as a featured image would normally be placed. This is working in my previous site at ouradventurephotos.com and you can see several posts on the first page as an example.
On my new site, if I choose the gallery format and place a gallery at the top of my post, it merely displays under the post title and does not show up at all on the main blog page. I’ve recently created my WordPress website, using the Illustratr template, and I tried to switch the colour theme (dark background and white text instead of the opposite) in order to make the pictures stand out.
This forum was a huge help (thank you!), but I still struggle with two things: the background colour of my slideshow (Jetpack + Illustratr), which remains desperately white, and the dark page titles (for instance, here).
Is there a way to change their colours? Turn the slideshow background to black, and adjust the colour of page titles to a lighter shade of grey? I know that some other elements can’t be modified, due to the limitations of the free Illustratr theme (like the colour of links or that of the hover box over a portfolio), but I really hope these things can be changed…

]]>Hello, I created my website with this fantastic theme and I edited its CSS. The only thing I cannot edit is the logo, nav, and footer. I would like to aline it as in the same position as in the image, but I’m failing every time.
Another thing I would like to do is to put the mobile nav button on the top right side and add the word “MENU” to it.
I’ve attached a couple of images to explain better what I meant.

I’m having some problems with how the homepage is displayed in mobile devices. I’m using Illustratr theme. It is divided in to two columns but the last two projects are showing one in a row and the other below, leaving a blank space on the left (there is an even number of projects displayed).
Also, in the desktop version the theme should be displayed in 3 columns but instead it shows in 2.

I have some gifs in my media library, and when I add them into a gallery, I press publish, one out of 5 gifs works only.
I tried to delete and upload the gifs which dont work again, but nothing happened.

I was trying to have a specific portfolio type on my front-page but somehow I can’t get the attributes to work.
This is my shortcode: [portfolio include_type:jazz columns:3 display_content:false]
With this in my shortcode-block I can see all portfolio types in two columns with content.
I’m using a self-made child theme for illustratr. Is this maybe the reason?
