you have three footer widgets but we can’t use the middle one because the calendar defaults there. how do i remove it.

I need to increase the width of the main content of my blog. Anyone know how to do this with the Jessica Fletcher Redux? I’ve played with some of the “width” settings in the style.css but haven’t found one that worked.
