Hi, I hope you can help me.

I am using a Pilcrow Child theme on my site https://www.lisakaborycha.com and thinking of changing the colors.

I originally chose a dark background with white letters because I primarily created my site to show images, which show best against a dark background.I still really like the brown and ochre tones, but now I have a lot more text and I think it is tiring to the eyes to look at bright lettering.

Do you have any suggestions on how I can alter this? Can I experiment with the colors before permanently making a change?

Is there a simple way to update my website to make it readable on all devices?

Working with the theme and testing responsiveness, only seems like the site is shrinking to fit the viewport and not re-organizing on content breaks or moving to one column instead of three as the viewport decreases in size, anyone else experiencing this problem?

I have about 20 different header images that I use in the Pilcrow theme. I have them set up to be random, so each user that views our pages gets a random header image.

What I would also like to provide to the user is a way for them to change to another random header simply by clicking on the header image. Is there a way to do that? Would it simply be a page reload?

I am having difficulties with the Twitter follow button. I have been trying to figure out how to add this using https://en.support.wordpress.com/twitter/twitter-follow-button/

I can’t figure out how to place the code so it appears at the top of my site https://www.lisakaborycha.com/ preferably on the same line as the Search button on every post and page.

Dear Kathryn,

On my website, on the following page https://www.lisakaborycha.com/letters-of-renaissance-women/ I am trying to add about 20 more names of women writers.

Since at the moment the column is so narrow, it takes 2 spaces, sometimes 3 to fit in a name. Is there a way to widen this drop down to fit more characters per line?

Since scrolling is difficult when the drop down reaches out of sight, eventually I suppose the best thing to do once the list gets too long to fit on the screen, is to create a drop down alphabetical directory from this spot.

Could you please explain what “landing pages” are and how I would go about creating them?

Is there any way to remove just the time portion showing at the top of all posts? It looks like using CSS, the only options are to either show date and time together or “none”. I would like to keep the date. Thanks in advance.

I would like to add a logo adjacent to my Title. Is there a way to do this? Right now the Title is to the far right on the page and I would like the logo to be positioned to the far left. I know a little HTML and css (emphasize little) if you could take that into account when explaining. I also have a child page which I use for changes.

There seems to be a conflict with the main menu in the Pilcrow theme and the plugin “Events Calendar”. When viewing an event the main menu no longer works and the back button must be used to leave the page. I loaded up a second unaltered install of WordPress 4.1, an unaltered install of Pilcrow theme, along with Events Calendar as the only plugin to make sure it’s not caused by my own changes yet the problem persists. Switch to another theme like 2012 and the issue is resolved. My test install can be seen here – https://www.testing.stonebriarfarm.com/ . Click on events, “test event” to view the listing, then try to access the sample page menu. Any help appreciated.

Hi, I am trying to remove the margins in a Pilcrow Child Theme – I am new to WordPress and have trouble with simple seeming html/css things. I have tried pasting in a lot of different codes found on the support forum, and somehow managed to remove the right margin but I cant do the left. Is there a code I can put in to remove both? And if thats done, how can I get the navigation bar’s lines to not stretch all the way to the side?

I am setting up a new site.
The site has a one column no side bar template.
I have made a few mods to the css and header.php, to relocate the menu, and alter text appearance. (Child theme)

I would like to use a sidebar on one or two of my pages.
I am a beginner at php, and google has not been my friend.
Most google search results refer to using a copy of page.php edited to create a new template, but that doesn’t seem to be applicable with this theme.

Where should I start, to create a new template. I am happy to experiment, so even a few tips would be better than nothing. Cheers

Just within the last few days, my featured header images on specific posts have all stopped displaying. They show as featured images in edit mode and they’re all sized at 990X257, which is the right size. far as I know. I disabled all plug ins and that didn’t make any difference. Any idea how to fix this? The posts in question were all written for the A-Z Challenge in April. Here’s an example:

Presently, my Pilcrow theme at https://www.doingjustice.com uses Georgia font size 21 for the so-called “entry-title” of each page and blog post.

As a result, some of my titles take more than one line, which I’d like to avoid because it doesn’t look good.

I believe that if I could change the font size to 14 (possibly 12 or 13), all of my titles would fit on one line.

Can you help me with the appropriate CSS code or other method for making this adjustment if possible?

Current color of entire site background is default white. At one time, the color of the left and right sides of the background (wrappers?) matched my site-title color and footer color. Would like CSS code to do that again. Tried a number of element names etc. but failed.

I am using the Pilcrow theme and am new to wordpress but have some experience with php.

The 770 width is too narrow so I went in to the editor and changed styles.css to 800. However, that caused my featured images not to go to across the entire 800 pixels (they were still at 770 but the black lines bordering it extended farther out).

I then went in and tried changing:
‘$args[‘width’] = apply_filters( ‘pilcrow_header_image_width’, 770);’ in custom-header.php but then all the my featured images change to just the default header image (the books).

How do I set wider featured images? Thank you so much for your help!

Kathryn has told me that she does not see this code (see below) in my css CUSTOM module. When I look at the “css style sheet”, I do see it there. I am not sure what the “CUSTOM” model is. I don’t see this in the “editor”. This is the code she says that is needed. I also attempted to put it in the the “header” code. No change. Text is still justified right.

I’ve been using pilcrow for two years now and recently my site has been loading very slowly or timing out all together. Bluehost (my host) says it’s a problem with my theme. I have customized it but I think I’ve done it right? Any help?

I would like to put back the original image on Pilcrow’s heading onto my web site. For some reason, the image changed, and is now different on each page. In the meantime, another programmer made a child theme so that certain files are not over – but I am not sure if this image will again be over written.

If I have moderate knowledge of coding issues, will I be able to change the image back? Or will I need to pay someone to do this? I am willing to pay if need be.
