I don’t understand why this theme is not updated, I am comfortable with this theme.

I’ve been using Semicolon for a year now and very happy with it for publishing my blog.

Now I would like to present my portfolio the same way as the mainpage represents blogposts. The example of Semicolon theme here shows same sort of functionality for Artwork / Writing pages. They seem to have their own categories.

But how is this done? If I add a new page I only get a single page that doesn’t show the articles/portfolio items the same way as main page?

I tryied adding up a new category but it is linked up with the main page only.

How do I create a subpage (Portfolio) that I can add up articles the same way it works for the blog (mainpage)?

I have looked through the forum at similar topics but cannot find a suitable answer. I have created a simple child theme of semicolon but thumbnails are not showing up on the home page. I’ve tried re-installing the theme and testing on various browsers. It seems the image is not being rendered in the HTML spans.

Any ideas?

I’m interested in removing this theme’s related posts capability. It seems to show just the adjacent 4 or something posts for each post, additionally jetpack provides its own related content module which seems to do the job just fine.
Is this simple?

Hi guys,
I have a page template to loop posts from a category.
The function semicolon_paging_nav() shows the correct number of pages, but when I click in page 2 or the last page, it shows me exact the same posts as in the first page. What am I missing?

I have a custom menu that I have created, but only the top menu items are showing. I just switched my theme today, and there was no problem with the menu before, so I don’t believe it is that. Is there a way to have a drop down menu for this theme?

I think there’s a bug in this theme.

It always shows the same 4 posts for the “Related Posts” section under each article.

and I also have the same problem on my website.

I have many articles, but it always shows the same 4 or 5 articles in the “Related Posts” section.

My question is: is there a simple way to make them truly random?

When calling featured images through the Jetpack tag, the seconnd one is this displayed underneath the first. I’d like to have them next to each other, as I assume this theme is meant.

Could someone please advice on how to achieve this?

using the jetpack’s infinite scroll messes up the layout…..does this theme support infinite scroll? or may be I am implementing in a wrong way…. please anyone who know how to make infinite scroll work with this theme help me out…thanks.

i discovered your great theme and I try to use it with one of my site. Everything worked fine at the beginning with simple features, but now I try to activate Jectpack and I don’t see any changes.
For example :
– I don’t see the “Likes”
– I can’t see neither the “Share buttons” because it’s impossible to drag and drop the buttons in the admin panel (and there is no “Facebook” button)
– I dont see similar articles
– when i add a “featured” tag to a post, it changes nothing (the image is the same size)
– …

I suppose I have forgotten something important… but what ? Is there something I must activate somewhere in the theme ?
Could you help me ?

I’m trying to change the colour of the links and hover colour in the css
Have found the style sheet colors.css
I have copied this into my child theme, and amended
but site isn’t changing.

I see this line, do I need to do something?

Now I have read the earlier threads and I understand that this has been asked a lot of times But, I need some help with replacing the repeating <h1> on every post. Whether it has any effect on SEO is not that important for me, I just think it’s a matter of personal preference. Please guide me how I can change that to h3’s so that this doesn’t repeat again. Hi, I want my widget to have a white background, and preferably black text for the links, as in the sample Semicolon page (https://semicolon.kovshenin.com/) but I can’t change the colour of the widget unless I change the accent colour, which means that when you hover over anything on the site it also goes white, which I don’t want.

When I try to open site, all I can see ?Requested page is loading. Please wait …? on the white background. It’s refreshing but doesn’t load page. In admin console, list of pages looks like empty.

I created couple of sites with titles but I would like to hide titles after cilcking it. As the menu bar already displays this it seem unnecessary to repeat it.

I am very impressed with the theme which I am editing as best I can.

I have tried to add a sub-item in the menu but it does not reflect on my main menu? All of parent categories show but any sub-item does not. Is this happening to anyone else?

Also I am struggling to understand the excerpt feature of WordPress. I want to display my posts side by side (two of them) like doodlesandjots.com but which an except and read more underneath. I want that to repeat all of the way down the post and not have the small thumbnails.

I love the Semicolon theme, and I’m considering using it for a new project, but I have a quick question. Is there any way to label a post’s category on the front page? I’m thinking about something along the lines of the Expound theme’s feature wherein a small text banner featuring the name of the post’s category wrapped around the featured image on the homepage (https://kovshenin.com/2013/expound-a-free-magazine-theme-for-wordpress/#jp-carousel-7464). From the looks of the Semicolon demo, this functionality doesn’t exist in Semicolon. Is there a way to turn it on or does a similar feature exist in this theme?
