hi,
I replaced WP search box with Google custom search box. Now I got two undesirable rectangles around search box. Is it possible to get rid of those?

]]>Hello,
Me again !
I received a few comments, and I have a side questions :
– I find out that the theme has no practical widget for archives. The reader has the choice between a “monthly archives” (and then he needs to navigate the page) or a calendar (but then he needs to click a lot, since it is month-base)d.
I am looking for a way to do like in Blogger (eg https://crpgaddict.blogspot.com/), basically you see the year by default, click on a year you see the month, click on a month you see the posts.
– [edited in] Is it normal that hyperlinks in the text don’t change color – no nice blue. I am changing the color manually but it is not optimal.
– I received a fairly minor feedback on the comment button :
https://zeitgame.net/forum/topic/reply-function#postid-201 ??
– The last one is more personal. In a previous support question, you sent me an option to put the comment at the bottom. I was so happy that I bought Shift Pro as a “thank you”… but I am not sure how to make sure that on Shift Pro the comment is button is kept at the bottom, as it seems you did a (wonderful) child theme for the not-pro version :).
]]>I have installed shit theme (not pro). I am facing problems when I activate RTL language. Header contents arrangements get broken. navigation menu, social icons, search, not showing in correct position. everything is fine in LTR. Please provide a fix or correct rtl.css files.
]]>Hello there,
I really love the Shift theme, but there is one thing I wish was possible : moving the “prompt for comment” from the top to the bottom by default (eg the default Blogger.com behavior, actually). Currently users read the blog post, then have to scroll back up.
if it is a feature of shift pro, perfect, that enough for me to transition.
Else, is there any way to do it ?
]]>Hi there. Really enjoying the theme. I’ve run into an issue, though.
I’ve uploaded a 200×100 pixel image for my site logo, as suggested, but it’s showing up way too big in the preview and the finished product… probably 2-3x the size. So for now, I’ll just have text in that spot, but ideally I’d have a logo.
Any advice you can share that will fix this would be appreciated. Thanks!
]]>Hey,
I want to add Adsense ad right this place. How can i add?
]]>I am now into 3-4 times paying (every 6mo) for shift pro.
I would like to know how or CSS or code or where that I can hide the down-arrow in the menu? You know the down arrow thing right on the side of a link/menu, I’d like to rid of that if possible. Thanks so much!
]]>The post date, also on front page and as well in archives has the wrong date. If I post today on (11/10/19) it would show (11/11/19) instead of the supposed (11/10/19). It’s one day later and when I try to change the date in the editor, it still shows one day later than supposed to be or sometimes won’t let me change the date to the older one.
Please help! Thank you so much, I have e-mailed you with priority support and I hope that you’ll answer this.
]]>So I’m using this with 5.0 RC 1 and wanted to report a couple of issues with the editor-styles.css file that are messing with Gutenberg.
1. You need to remove the margin, padding and height values on the body element in that file. The margin and padding are messing with the top of the editor and making the permalink element hidden behind the top toolbar. The height: 100% declaration makes the metaboxes overlap the content in the editor. Simply removing those fixes the issues and has no ill effects.
2. This is an issue on front-end as well as in the editor, but in this theme, the links are the same color as the text and also have underlines removed. This is bad for accessibility, so I’ve changed it on my site with a child theme, but this also carries over into the editor. The issue here is you can’t tell if you’ve actually inserted a link unless you click on the text where the link is.
I’ve fixed both in a child theme for myself, but wanted to report the issues back upstream and wasn’t sure where else to do it. Didn’t see a GitHub repo or anything.
Thanks for making a nice theme. Cheers!
]]>Thanks so much for downloading Shift!
Shift has a ton of resources for customizing your site and fixing errors. Here’s a list of the resources and how to use each one.
Shift tutorials
If you want to add the large images showcased in the demo, customize the menus, and do more with Shift, check out the Shift Support Center for step-by-step tutorials.
Customizing Shift
You don’t need to know CSS to tweak and customize your site with it. Shift has dozens of pre-written CSS snippets you can copy and paste in the Shift CSS Snippets Collection.
Advanced customization
If you need to reorder elements in the template or make complex customizations, you’ll need to use a “child theme“. You can click here to download a starter child theme for Shift and find basic setup instructions here.
Something went wrong!
If you notice something isn’t working that used to work, check out the Shift changelog. It will let you know about the recent changes so you can check if an update caused the new error.
If you do ever have an issue with a new version of Shift, you can always use the WP Rollback plugin to revert to a prior version without the error.
General WP questions
You can find dozens of tutorials on using WordPress on the Compete Themes blog.
Still have questions?
If you have any errors or unanswered questions, search the forum here to see if there’s an existing solution. If not, please open a new thread.
When posting a new thread, please include the URL of your website. I don’t always need this, but sometimes I do so it will get you a solution faster.
Thanks for checking this thread and enjoy the theme ??
]]>I’m using the Shift theme because I want something simple and it is full of clutter about comments. I don’t want to use the WP comments function at all. Even when I use a comments-disabling plugin, i still get at the bottom of the post template
Comments
0 comments
I don’t want any mention of comments at all, no comments heading, no comments space, no comments box, no comments count, no mention of comments being closed, no comments at all.
i have tried editing the comments.php and comments-link.php, but no luck. Is there any way to get just have no comments function at all?
