When someone makes a comment on my site it does not show up on the website. I can only see it in my dashboard. I’ve checked all the discussion settings that I can think of but can not figure out why these will not show up.

I am a plugin developer and one of my customers contacted me about the plugin not working with this theme. I investigated the problem and discovered theme was throwing the following error:

• PHP Notice: Undefined offset: 0 in \wp-content\themes\simplenotes\functions.php on line 119
• PHP Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in \wp-content\themes\simplenotes\functions.php on line 119
• PHP Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string in \wp-content\themes\simplenotes\functions.php on line 120

I looked into the code on these lines and saw that this theme assumes there will be a category assigned if the user is viewing a single post. My plugin uses custom post types and does not use the WP categories. A simple if-statement solves the problem by checking to see if the post does indeed have a category before trying to use it:

if ( count($category) > 0 ) {
       $category_id = get_cat_ID( $category[0]->cat_name );
       echo '<li> &nbsp; ► '. get_category_parents( $category_id, TRUE, "</li><li> &nbsp; ► " );

I just downloaded the Simple Notes theme for my website (www.therecoveringpessimist.me). What I’ve noticed is that there’s some text shading in the comments and tags section of each post & in the field for my Click to Tweet plugin.

Is there a way to remove the text shading?

I have created a page in .html. I want to include it in my website as it is. It should be available by clicking a button on the navigation. I was able to do this by using a redirecting plugin. But the page that opens is not included in the wp-stats which I want. I know this could be done by creating a custom template in PHP but I am really don’t know how. Is there a way I can achieve this? So that I should be able to see that stats from that page as well?

Hey there,
I am using this stunning theme. I dont want any sidebars in any of my pages. I want my site to be full width. To change from ‘default template’ to ‘full width’ for every page just hides the sidebar. The site/ content is not full width though.

Do you know any solution?

I love this theme! It’s simple, clean, and beautiful. However, Is it possible to make edits to the theme via hard code?

1. Rather than adding side bar widgets I would much rather add items via side bar.php file. I add the code, but nothing shows up.

2. I also, wish to add a top navigation menu. The code is correct and has been tested, but doesn’t appear properly when add to this theme.

3. I also wish to add a floating footer bar… it only takes three sets of code. 2 in the footer.php and one in the style.css. I add this code also, but nothing appears. :/

I’d like to remove the frames from around the images on my site. Simplenotes places frames round all images by default it seems and I can’t work out how to get rid of them.

This theme is really good looking.

I have found a problem, which I can’t figure out what’s the problem. Think you might able to solve.

I try to apply on one of my Chinese Blog, it appears no showing Header, Menu, and Post titles. As long as those are Chinese Characters.(see this screen shot)

To confirm my doubt above, I tried on another English Blog, it works flawlessly…(here’s the screen shot)

Try to dive into codes but can’t get any hints. The source code of the page has the details, but it just can’t show on the page…

I’m making a Norwegian wordpress site, using the amazing Simplenotes theme, but I realized it does not have support for ???.

I tried deleting the “Vegur_400-Vegur_700.font.js” and it worked, but the site didn’t look nearly as neat as before.

Are there any ways to fix this and keep the font? In that case, how?

How can I expand the list of posts that are included in “recent” on the main page? I couldn’t tell in the stylesheet where to edit to have more than the ten that are appearing get on to that page. Thanks!
