I use Soliloquy for years and have a “developers license”.

Today a problem appeared.

When I update an existing gallery (or upload a new one), I get the error message “The link you followed has expired”.

How can this be resolved?

Is there a way to change the size of the featured image that shows up on my pages. I would like to make it smaller than the default.

I have a pretty heavily modified version of Soliloquy Pro. I’m struggling with the dropdown menu, however. I’ve switched between the parent, child, and even went back to Twenty Thirteen. Twenty Thirteen will expand the sub menu but it appears this theme by default does not. I have adjusted the depth in the /parts-header-menu.php file down to 0. By doing this, the browser now “sees” that there are menu items there but they are not displayed. If you go to clermontcountyohio.biz -> Live & Play -> Recreation & Culture – using Chrome Inspect Element on Recreation & Culture. You’ll see that it shows menu-item-has-children. I can’t for the life of me determine how to get this to appear. In Chrome if I style it directly in the browser using:

element.style {
    display: block;
    position: static;
}

I can get it to appear in line with primary dropdown menu. Any thoughts on how to get this to expand out to the right like it does in Twenty Thirteen?

I am looking to remove the ‘Author’ box that appears at the bottom of every page. I do not want it to appear at all. For reference you can see my site at greengiraffedesign.ca. The author box appears on the bottom of every page.

I’m having trouble getting the widgets I want to display in my posts’ sidebar – whatever I do it only display the post’s ‘excerpt’.

Under Appearance > Widgets I have chosen the widgets I want to appear in the ‘Default Blog Sidebar’. Then on a post edit form, I have left the Sidebar # blank so that it chooses the default, however on viewing the page only the post’s excerpt is displayed. I can successfully hide the sidebar, and move it from left to right, but it seems to ignore my choice of sidebar (or widgets in sidebar).

I’ve tried setting up an ‘alternative’ sidebar and selecting this in the post edit form, but same again – just the excerpt. I have also tried removing and re-adding the widgets – doesn’t work.

I have managed to get the widgets I want displaying in the Default Pages Sidebar without a problem.

Interestingly, if I click Customize when on a page and navigate to widgets I can change which widgets appear in the Default Page Sidebar. But if I click Customize while viewing a post and navigate to widgets this area isn’t available to edit – only widgets in the header and footer. The sidebar widget area seems to be missing. Is this a bug? Or something I need to change in the sidebar.php?

The site is currently in construction mode so I won’t post a link, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

I just installed the soliloquy theme and i can’t seem to figure out how to change the header images. I want to replace the header images with a header-slider. I just installed the soliloquy plugin for a slider but i can’t seem to get it to work. Can somebody help me? Thanks!

I know almost nothing. My so-called developer is AWOL. I was hoping to make a few changes to the appearance of my website without risking a disaster. My website is:

I created and installed a child theme following these instructions:

I have tried both a blank .css file and one with the entire contents of the original .css copied over, they both have the same results – random pics and gibberish, and the complete destruction of the look of the webpage. Fortunately, re-activating the original theme fixes all, but leaves me back where I started.

Any changes that I have made to the website up to this point were done using the WordPress interface.

What did I do wrong?

Is it possible to put longer text in the homepage blocks? There is a default of a couple of letters and after that it stops. Is it possible to get this longer or better words?

I can’t get the galleries to work. See here how some pictures show up and others don’t? It doesn’t seem to matter how large or small the files are, they show up or don’t at random. Can someone help? I tried to use a plugin, Easy Media Pro, instead, but that didn’t work either. Any idea what I am doing wrong? Thanks

I’d like to reduce or remove the large space in between the header and the content on some of my pages. Is this possible? Thanks.

I want to upload an image for the background but I can’t seem to get it to work as a non repeating full screen image. I am not using a picture exactly, but more like a background I created with my company colors and logo. When I upload it, it is either just really small or I have to choose repeating. Is there a certain size I should make it to have this work? Thanks!

I’m using a customized child theme and parent theme setup by colleagues. I want to add the slider to just the home page and have installed the soliloquy plugin. I’m able to call the slider on all pages by editing the header file in the child theme using the soliloquy template tag info provided:

if ( function_exists( ‘soliloquy’ ) ) { soliloquy( ‘###’ ); }

However, this changes the header for all pages on the site. I’ve created a new file in the child theme folder called header-slider.php, and I’ve figured out how to call that file by editing the header.php file in the parent theme, but this also changes all the sites pages. I understand why it does, what I want to do is find the right code and location to put it that calls the header-slider.php file for the home page and the header-image.php file (both in the child theme folder) for the rest of the site.

The section of the header.php file that calls the child theme header looks like:

I’m a novice with php, at best, and have searched for hours and found many things, but none of them work. Any help on how to code the header file in the parent theme to call a different child theme header just for the home page would be much appreciated.

Another thing that I am trying to remove from the theme is the author box on the bottom of each page. It’s not terrible to have there but I am trying to create a page for my company and I believe that it would look a lot more professional without my username at the bottom of everything.

I have tried to add the fancy author box plugin to at least make it look better but the original still stays. I definitely want the original out of there.

I have also tried using the methods that others have used in other threads to no avail so maybe I need to do something that is specific to this theme.

What file do I need to edit and what needs to be added / removed?

My issue is an interaction between the Soliloquy image logo and the Jetpack image box widgets.

As you can see on my site Little Seeds Farm School , I am trying to use the Jetpack image boxes to place the grassy areas on the left and right of the Soliloquy image logo.

This lines up properly at the largest resolutions but when I begin making my browser smaller, the responsive layout causes the right Jetpack Image widget box to overlap the logo. The left hand image box seems to slide neatly behind the image logo and I would like the right grassy area to do the same.

I’ve tried playing with the z-index CSS field as well as resizing all the elements, removing their padding and margins etc but I’m stuck at the moment.

I am trying to use the soliloquy theme on my wordpress site and I am having trouble with the customizations. Do I need to download the full theme (paid theme) in order to change things? Or can I customize the free version with my own logo and colors?
The sample images won’t go away and they are loading on top of my image slider and other images. I can’t get my own images to replace the samples on the front or in the pages. It looks like a total mess right now. I also can’t remove comments from pages or change the size of the images. Maybe I just have no idea what I am doing, but I do love the potential on this theme, and I don’t have the money to hire a designer. Thanks!

I am looking to delete my entire navigation menu as I will be trying to create a simple page with the only links being pictures as featured page links.

I am running the soliloquy theme and simply want to get rid of the top bar for links so there is no redundancy.

How do I do it?

I really like this theme! It has one apparent glitch that I can’t seem to track down – “No content matched your request.” appears below the three featured post boxes and before the footer area.

I’ve tried deleting the theme, upgrading the theme to the latest version (1.0.5) and more. Can’t seem to locate where this is coming from.

Strangely, it appears I’m not alone. Googling “No content matched your request.” + Soliloquy yields a bunch of hits – others who are test-driving the theme on their WP website appear to have run into this glitch too.

Unfortunately, the developer doesn’t appear to offer any avenues of support for this version, nor can I readily tell what extra features/widgets are available in the paid version, so am a bit hesitant to spend the $…

Anyone have an idea where the problem is coming from?
