I would like to suggest an improvement for the “Older posts” link in the home page template.

Right now on both mobile and desktop it simply shows a normal link, but I think it is quite hard to see. (maybe I am missing something and I should use a pagination widget?)

I think a good solution might be to make the Older posts link a button instead especially for mobile (something that resembles the primary menu button at the top maybe?)

Anyway, looking forward to hearing back, if there is anything I can do to help including proposing a code change happy to do it.

I am trying to get a simple website online for my music group, but although the so simple theme is responsive, the dropdown menu doesn’t work on mobile devices, so i stay stuck on the homepage. The top menu shown on laptop browsers is replaced by a solid block saying ‘primary menu’. How can i fix this ? Can i update the theme or change the code ? Would be very grateful if you could help !

Thanks for this nice theme. I have installed this theme on a brand new WordPress installation (version 4.9.6) and tried all the options in the customizer to make the Read More link show after the post excerpts on the homepage, but it doesn’t work. It only shows […] but no Read More link no matter what combination of options I try. Thanks in advance.

Can’t dismiss the “install theme message” in the top of the admin. I dismiss it and it is stil there next page load.

I just upgraded the theme and I have noticed a change in the way my blog post titles are showing up in Google searches.

Let’s say my blog name was “Great Gardens” and I wrote a blog post called “Pretty Flowers”. Previously Google would show “Pretty Flowers” as the blog post’s title in search results. However since upgrading (no new widgets or plug-ins have been installed or upgraded) Google is now showing “Pretty Flowers – Great Gardens” as the post title, i.e. “- Great Gardens” has been suffixed to the post title.

How can I remove this blog title suffix from my post titles?

I love this theme but I am having a problem running it with Woocomerce. The products appear on the page ok but the sidebar (widget contents) appears after the products and not alongside them, there is just white space where the widgets should be? I am using the default template page and have now added

to the functions.php It gives me two columns on the products but the widgets still appear at bottom of page?

firstly, your theme is great. I really love it. Its so simple.
secondly, I would like to change the colours. especially the white should be a light grey and the background (the outside, only seen on pc with big screen) should be a darker grey. I just think the white is a little too white ??

is there a way to do this? The Customizer only lets me change the very backgroundcolour but not the white site background.

I am designing a website using a child theme of So Simple-

Unfortunately, the mobile menu is not handling secondary level items in the menu very well. It is stacking them to the lower left and it looks jumbled and confused. Reduce the browser window and click on the Primary Menu icon to see what I mean.

How do I restrict the mobile menu to top level items only? I would prefer for the secondary items not to appear at all.

Hi the theme doesn’t seem compatible with the Polylang plugin for multiple languages. Is this correct or am I missing something?

First of all, I love this theme. The simplicity of it is exactly what I need. However I would love to make some simple tweaks. However, I’m not familiar with CSS coding etc. So I hope you can help me out.

1. I would love to have all the blog posts and also the home page full width. I know it’s possible for sites but not for the home page and for articles. Is there a way to do this?

2. To save some above-the-fold space I would like to put the logo on the same line (on the left) as the menu. I already managed to put the search field there (however, it doesn’t look quite good yet) on the navigation menu. So it all would be on one line which would make the SoSimple theme even simpler. ??

When a category is clicked and a list of articles is listed i get a list of excerpts as wished but on the end of the content of each article there is an ” […]” no read more link

Hope you can help! The header/logo area of the theme is very small. Is there a way to change this? When I update the css to make it bigger it looks rubbish on mobile! There must be away. Please Help!!!!

This theme supports Featured Image with Posts and it is great! But it doesn’t support the Featured Image to Page.

I bet it is not hard to create, any advice how to do that?

Hello. I saw the topic “Read More link missing” but it doesn’t help. I did everything you recommend in that topic and it didn’t help. I Chose “text” option and “text + button” option – it didn’t appear…

I’d like to change the way entry-footer looks like: by default it brings up “published in [category name]” line, tags and comments link. I want to change it so only comments link was there.

But how? I see that you made a class ‘entry-footer’ and call it in like every template part file from /template-parts.

Hey, maybe this is a very silly question, I apologize in advance for that case. This is my first OWN homepage-project.

I′m trying to display a video in it′s full size and in the horizontal center. So I′m choosing the “full width page” when publishing a new site.

Then I add media.
One Picture and one video. The picture works well, but the video is always displayed in a smaller size and on the left of the site, no matter what I do.
I′ve tried to fix it via several css solutions, but I′m a newbie and I don′t know what I can try next.

Can you maybe tell me what my mistake is?

“Fun”-Fact: when I put the video into a div and add an incomplete class where half of the code is missing, it looks correct on the frontend. I don′t understand why and this can not be the solution!? Looks very wrong in the backend. (e.G.: <div class=”> )

Using version 1.2 of SoSimple – adding <!–more Read Article–> or Just <!–more–> in the post shortens the description in the main post page, however, it does not add a “Read Article” or ANY LINK at the end of the shortened description. Web-Page is not active, working on WAMP.
Tried many WP forums, however, post are 5-7 years old – before template-parts folder – Can you help?

I am on version 1.1.9 and there is a small bug with the comments appearance.
To replicate:

1. Write a comment that is bigger than the reserved text area
2. Scroll down the text area
3. Bug => The “Comment” text remains relatively positioned to the comment box and goes over the text of the comment.

How do I customize the header image? When I click on Appearance -> Header, it takes me to the front-end customizer, but has no option to add/change the header image. I was able to add one before the theme update, but can’t change it now.
