I love developing child themes from this framework. The hooks all make sense and everything is easy to get to know. My only wish is that the theme was ported to Bootstrap 3.1 to for the extra features.

Needs to be kept up to date with the latest version of Bootstrap. I would of expected Font Awesome to be included and then we’d know what documentation to use. It would be great to be able to use short code to insert accordion menus, carousel slideshows, model popups, alerts etc.
Also would like to have the option to use an image in the navbar in place of the site title and display the navigation to the right with the search box.

It’s a stock bootstrap with some css modifications. This is clearly not developer oriented, yet its extensible using child themes.
It was not too difficult to extend bootstrap with a couple of scripts, but as a developer, this is something that should perhaps be done ahead of time.
If you are not a developer, there are still a few things you might care about. For example instead of using an icon font like Font Awesome, He use glypicons, bad for retina displays and all flagship phones.
It is a bootstrap based theme, not THE bootstrap wp theme… I have yet to find such a thing.

Thanks for this great theme. Easy to use, easy to create a child theme from. Responsive Everything worked as advertised, except for one minor detail, which may by now have been resolved; that’s the carousel, the “active” slide indicator won’t work until the carousel section of /js/bootstrap.js is updated to version2.3.1.
Live version, custom child theme using the-bootstrap as parent;

GOOD, I like it

Only just started using this theme (although been using Bootstrap for web dev for a while)
Very impressed so far, super easy to customise using a child theme and apparently plenty of support in the forums from the developer (although I haven’t needed it yet).
Thank you

I tested nearly a dozen themes to use as a parent theme when developing my personal site (https://www.bradley-davis.com/) and they all had parts that I didn’t like, but The Bootstrap was rock solid and floated my boat!

Great template, but in future versions, can you add conditional checks for each function in the core functions.php file. That way, we can override some of those functions in our child template very easily.

I’ve been working on my first child theme from this, and found it fairly intuitive, just a couple of quirks that some quick searching resolved — like needing to use add_action( ‘after_setup_theme’, ‘remove_excerpt_more_link’ ) to override the markup for the excerpt read more link. A quick search in the support section here yielded the answer. No show-stoppers so far!
Thanks for your hard work on this theme, I hope to build some more sites using this as the parent.
Cheers to Konstantin and The Bootstrap!

Simple and easy to modify. Providing the backbone. Anything more or less is undesired. Thanks for your hard work!

I’ve used this theme as a starting point for several projects and have to say it’s exactly what i need.
Thanks!

This theme is complete and professionally coded. For me a rock solid parent theme for a number of child themes I have developed in the last 2 month.
Thanks for the great work!
What I’m missing is the full implementation of all bootstrap’s components (can be “easy” done in the child theme) and bootstrap’s JavaScript however it also can be implemented in a child theme fairly easy.
