Under ‘appearance’ in the WordPress control panel, I am in the editor, and see the various template headings and css stylesheet thing, but I don’t see where the ‘title’ option is to change the title from all caps to a default value of both caps and lowercase (whatever the user types)… Does anyone know?
Also, does anyone know how to change the background color of the main body of the page… It’s currently set to white or an off white, but I seek to enter the numerical code for a different color.
Thank you very much in advance.

Suddenly I can’t log-in to my site, which uses the Erudite theme. Since I can’t log-in I can’t tell what version I’m using, either of WP or Erudite. I know I have one of the 3.8.X versions of WP. I don’t think I’ve updated Erudite for a long time.
Each page on my site has this error message at the top:
Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /home3/datodd/public_html/wp-content/themes/the-erudite/functions.php on line 125
On the log-in page I have a string (17 I think) of similar messages. When I try to log-in I get this message:
ERROR: Cookies are blocked or not supported by your browser. You must enable cookies to use WordPress.
But cookies ARE enabled, so far as I can tell. At least I never changed any cookies settings. At work I use an HP using Windows 7 and IE11. At home I’ve been using a Dell with XP and Chrome. That’s currently in the shop being upgraded to Vista (which it’s already licensed for).
I don’t know what to do.

The tablepress table at the top is the table i would like to be wider. I can’t get it to expand any further to the right.
The table underneath is my older version, which clearly does run wider.
Why is this? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I’m having a problem with the large, hanging capital at the beginning of the first paragraph of posts. The editor freezes once the first initial has been typed and I cannot write anything more. I have to write the first paragraph in notepad and paste it in.
Is there any way of solving this, or is it just me? I’m using Google Chrome version 23.0.1271.64 m. My site is https://cantrergwaelod.com.

I want to use categories as menus for a book review blog i am planning – the categories would be genres. The Erudite options mentions that this only works with ‘a small number of categories’. How small is small?
I love the theme and use it for my writers’ group.
However, after a post drops from the top position, there’s no way to tell if anyone is still commenting on it aside from clicking on it. Does anyone know of a way to add a simple “comments(n)” text to the older posts? This would be very helpful since most of out members post on the same day and it’s just too easy to think that nobody has replied to a submission…
I’m pretty fluent in PHP, so even just a good pointer to the right direction would be great. If it’s a CSS thing, I may need a little more guidance.
Thank you in advance for anyone listening.

I think the problem may be due to upgrading this theme… Totally happy to downgrade, but don’t know how!
My categories are no longer playing ball. New ones don’t show up at all, existing ones that were fine as subcategories do not want to be subcategories any more.

Now that we have tags in WordPress, I see no reason to use Categories for my posts as well. It seems like an inelegant duplication of the same thing.
I have a child theme of The Erudite, and I have spent weeks trying to work out this problem on my own through various other forums, but none of them seem to work with The Erudite.
I hope someone can help me with this simple problem of removing the lines “Posted in category”. For example, I want to remove the line “Posted in People” in this blog post of mine for both the post and for the front page.

The Erudite theme gives erroneous sizes for fonts in divisions. For instance, paste this into html editor with the theme:

adding div around a line makes it too small

This also makes syntax-highligher plugin display too small

Any solution or work-around for these? In particular, other plugins that generate lists or other text often insert divs or lists that consequently get terrible formatting from large or small font sizes. Many thanks for suggestions and to Matt for making a great theme.

Greetings,
I am in the process of reanimating my blog and as I was looking for a new theme I came across The Erudite. I instantly was in awe and really like the clean and its art-y style.
Recently, I finally applied it to my blog and was even able to use my little CSS skills to add a custom banner to the header. Unfortuantly, I have run into an issue which I cannot resolve by myself.
When I look at the main page where posts are cut off, there is an issue with short posts. Whenever a post has less content for it to be cut automatically, the theme adds a butchered version of what seems to be a link to the permalink and post title. You can see an example here:
https://www.idot-blog.de/?paged=3
As I said I’m not really skilled with coding so I am grateful for any kind of assistance.
Thanks in advance
