I have set up a archive page for my portfoilo projects.
The only problem is It is only possible to view it when you scroll through. You cannot select different projects. The latest project is the first and you have to scroll down through each project to see the next.
Can I create a gallery page or thumbnail list for the projects so the viewer can click the one they want to view?
This archive project list is set to primary menu in tonal theme.
Whats the best way to see the portfolio posts as a gallery?
Many thanks in advance!
Hi all
I’m just wondering how I can add Facebook, pinterest etc to each blog post.
My website doesn’t dislay comments.
What should I do? Thanks
Hello All,
I’m looking for help to change the position of the Menu-Icon (top-right of the screen) in the Tonal theme.
* (1) I want the Icon to sit just above, or just under the Site-name, centered on the page (all within the header area).
Also (-or, perhaps for another time…)
(b) change the Size of the Icon (to about 50% of what it is).
(c) change the Icon itself to another Icon (in this case a ‘Play’ icon).
Site: https://www.puproket.com
Btw, I have no coding experience at all ??
Over the last couple of months i’ve got how to make a child-theme, and i’ve been able to sort out changing footer.php information, and removing the ‘Comment’-Icons (using copy-&-pasted CSS), but, i don’t know what i’m doing.
I chose Tonal as a base to work from as it’s almost perfect for what i was looking for. It’s only this final issue to be resolved. I’ve been unable to follow the how-to videos and info i’ve found so far. I have the header.php in my child-theme from Tonal, ready to be edited.
Thanks in advance.
??
In verifying my site with Google, I received error messages regarding Missing: author and Missing: update.
Doing a Google search to find a resolve, I learned that I should replace <?php the_author(); ?> with <span class=”vcard author post-author”><?php the_author(); ?> but I cannot find any trace of author referred to anywhere in your single.php file.
Please advise on BOTH issues as one appears to be the single.php file while the other is apparently missing in the function.php file.
Thank you in advance.
Hello,
The Tonal theme is only supposed to be able to support one menu, but in my website, there are two. The second one looks a bit strange and I cannot delete it. I am able to edit the menu on the left-hand side but can do nothing to remove or edit the second menu, which sits to the right. When I try deleting all the menus, both menus remain.
Please help, I am not experienced with this sort of thing.
Thanks for reading my message.
Hello… Luckily I found how to rename the language-file for the German translation.
But what I don’t understand is, why don’t you change this in the ZIP everybody downloads?
To use this wonderful theme, you have to first look it up. That’s not what I call simplicity.
Please do it ??
I can go into the dashboard and navigate to the menu section to add/remove items. There, the only thing that shows up are the three pages I added. But when you actually go to the site, it shows those 3 pages as well as ARCHIVES. Anyone know how to axe the archives from there?
Hello,
I use tonal in French but some parts of the blog remain untranslated.
At the end of each article, the following still appears in English.
“Posted on (5 octobre 2015) Leave a comment Edit”
I’ve looked at the fr.po file but it seems to be correctly translated.
Any ideas ?
Thanks.
Hello,
I have a question about Yoast SEO and Tonal theme compatibilty.
When I activate Yoast SEO, a dash (-) appears after my blog’s title.
Any idea to fix that ?
Thanks.
Hello,
I enjoy starting using the Tonal theme!
I would like to add both on the comment’s logo attached to each article and also after each “recent article”, the total of comments posted.
Is there a way to add it ?
Thanks
So I have this space of white, a thing gray bar, and another space of white between my header and the copy of my site.
I know I should be using a child theme, but I haven’t done that because I’m relatively new to wordpress, but I know some html and CSS.
The site is, winterbash.yumawebteam.com
How can I, if possible, fix this.
Hello,
Unlike the post https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/image-posts-change-header-placement-back-to-top-of-content?replies=5, I like the fact that an image post displays the first pic as a feature image, on top.
But when I want to add images in the post body, they all get on top of the very first one and not in the post flow…
How could I use the “featured image” function to stick an image on top and use images the classic way in the blog flow?
Thanks
Hi,
firstly thank you for a great theme. Yay!
I need some help though:
When I write a blog post and choose the image or gallery format before publishing, the header (title/headline/H1) of the post is moved from the top of the post to below the image itself. (Unlike the other formats where the title is above the content of the post. Like it should be.)
That bugs me quite a lot ??
Is there anyway you can help me to fix this?
Thank you!
I have a header image I want to use but I am being restricted in the aspect ratio; in the crop screen I can’t go beyond about 275px at a height of about 82px.I’d have assumed it was WordPress itself, but I’ve never seen this restriction before; is Tonal doing this? How can I get around it?
Thanks,
Chris

Feature image displays only in posts not pages — is that normal?
Hello,
I love the theme. Only one thing: Need to change mobile’s version because player video is fullscreen and no “width: initial”.
How to do this?
Thanks you
I have edited my footer on a Tonal child theme to add my own name and copyright, plus a link to my comments policy. I did this by copying footer.php into the child theme and then editing it.
However, now my website is showing both the footer of my child theme and the footer of my parent theme. Could you help me figure out why? I have spent quite a bit of time trying to figure it out and I think maybe I need to put something in the functions.php file to tell it not to also read the parent theme?
I don’t want to just ‘mask’ the parent theme footer using CSS.
Thanks so much if you know!

Hi there folks,
I’ve got my site wyldeandfree.com up and running with wordpress.com but I am a newbie to css and to www.ads-software.com and so am wondering whether anyone would be able to help me with the relevant bits of code for changing the following:
* Height of header image (I would like it to keep its proportions, so if I change the height it also changes the width)
* padding between site header image and grey line dividing site header from posts at the TOP of grey line
* padding between grey line and featured image BELOW grey line
* height and width of featured image (again, keep its proportions)
* space between featured image and post title
I have got the following which seem to be working:
* space between title and post:
@media only screen and (min-width: 64.063em) {
.fullwidth-block {
padding-bottom: 60px;
/* space between title and paragraph */
}
}
*space between top of screen and header image:
@media only screen and (min-width: 64.063em) {
#masthead {
padding: 80px 0;
}
}
These would all just be for full screen view as I’m happy with how it displays on smaller screens.
Thanks so much!
Rachel
I’m a WordPress newbie and I have just transferred my site from WordPress.com to www.ads-software.com One of the reasons I did this is that I wanted to make changes to things like the theme fonts etc
I have been looking up how to do that and I have made a child theme of the theme that I use (Tonal) following instructions.
My code for style.css is this:
/*
Theme Name: tonalchild
Description: A Tonal Child Theme designed by Rachel Shah
Author: wyldeandfree
Version: 1.0.0
Template: tonal
*/
My code for functions.php is this:
<?php
add_action( ‘wp_enqueue_scripts’, ‘enqueue_parent_theme_style’);
function enqueue_parent_theme_style() {
wp_enqueue_style( ‘tonal’, get_template_directory_uri().’/style.css’ );
}
?>
No matter what code I add in the Dashboard Appearances editor NOTHING changes. Nothing at all.
For example, as a test, right now I’ve got:
/*
Theme Name: tonalchild
Description: A Tonal Child Theme designed by Rachel Shah
Author: wyldeandfree
Version: 1.0.0
Template: tonal
*/
body {
border: 10px solid red !important;
}
but there is no red border whatsoever.
Can anyone help me?
Thank you!

Hi there,
I would like to keep the tagline, but replace the site title with a logo. Is this possible, and how would I go about this, please.
Other themes I have used allow for a logo to replace the site title if required. I am surprised this doesn’t.
Thanks for your help
Rachel
It seems like having some compatibility issues with firefox.
When I start paragraphes with “Pre” style, Tonal only recognizes “One-Lined” sentence. The reader should scroll to the right to read “Pre” sentence.
It works well with Chrome and Safari. It only has some problems with Firefox.
I have a slide carousel on the front page and each image has a link.
I modified the #page z-index to enable the image links to work but,
when I hit the menu icon, the carousel does not push down with the page.
Without the #page mod, the carousel does not push down but the menu is on top of it.
Any ideas?
Also would like menu to icon to stay put when menu is open so user can close menu without having to scroll down.

Hello,
Thank you for a beautiful theme first of all!
I was wondering if it is possible to change the layout of the menu button? My website caters to various age groups, and I’m worried that the older segment might not understand that the button represents a menu, so it would be great if I could change it so it displays the word “menu” instead of the horizontal lines.
Thanks a lot

Hello

For tonal theme the german translation does not appear, even everything has been correctly set. I do not have translation problems with other themes – only with Tonal Theme.
Hi there, I would like to add the Italian translation to the theme.
There is a language folder so I think the theme is supposed to be translatable.
The translation is quite ready so: where and how can I set the language?

Hello! I used Tonal theme from wp repository which has already support Infinite scroll from Jetpack. I want to change the homepage to show my featured products (woocommerce) instead of posts. How do I use infinite scroll for products? This is my query:
<?php
$my_query = new WP_Query( array(
'post_status' => 'publish',
'post_type' => 'product',
'meta_key' => '_featured',
'meta_value' => 'yes',
'posts_per_page' => 10
) );
if ($my_query ->have_posts()) : while ($my_query ->have_posts()) : $my_query ->the_post();
?>

Products thumbnail and description here

<?php
endwhile;
endif;
?>
Currently it shows 10 products with “Older Posts” link at the bottom of last product. I try to make the page load more products as user scroll down. Is it possible to use jetpack’s infinite scroll for products query like this? Please help!!
