I’ve got the free Tonic theme and I’d like to get rid of the button in the Jumbo Headline area. Can I do that in this theme? Or can it be done in the paid version of the theme?
If I can remove it, how does one do that? Thanks!
]]>I’ve just updated the theme from 0.8 to 1.1.1 and the menu had problems laying out when spanning more than 1 line.
The problem is that the float:left on 2nd line of menu items does not clear any menu items on the first line that have sub menus (eg a drop down). This meant that on my website, menu items on the 2nd line started to the right of “Gallery”.
Adding the following CSS seems to fix it without any consequences, as li is already float:left
.navbar .nav li a {
float: none;
}
Hopefully this could be fixed in a later version.

]]>I would like to have the side bar only show on the home page and have a full width template on all the others. I created a full width template using the instructions here: https://www.templatemonster.com/help/wordpress-how-to-remove-a-sidebar-from-a-specific-pagepages.html which did not work for the Tonic Theme. I also tried the fullwidth template plugin which does not really work either. Can anyone help?

I do not know how to get into and edit the style.css or any file using wordpress.

]]>I am using the free Tonic theme and have added the home page widgets. When I try to add additional information to the home page under the home page widgets, nothing is showing up. I have tried to remove the widgets, but I still have nothing showing up on the home page and I’m not sure what is going on.
]]>A week ago I’ve noticed that my sites that are created in Tonic got completely screwed.
Now front page doesn’t show static page as it’s set, but some random excerpt from the page with button “read more”. In addition to the fact that I don’t need it, “red more” doesn’t lead anywhere, but reloads the same page, so I cannot open full page.
How do I fix it?

Im using a tonic theme and I have my social profiles displayed on the upper right corner, just above my menu. They are black until you hover on them that you see their true colors (FB is blue on mouse hover, etc). Now, I want to change its colors so that without having to hover on them, they are in true colors. Help please.

I have been trying to figure this out for hours.
I want to have my blog on a different page from my homepage.
I have figured out how to do that: set the homepage to static and select a different page to house the blog. That moves the blog just fine–however, it totally destroys the homepage.
Why does static a homepage lose all of its other functionality? If I have a static homepage all of my widgets disappear along with the jumbo headline and the sizing of the background image.
Why is this an either/or? Why can’t I keep my homepage as is and just move the blog?
Please help.
]]>Hi …. The Tonic theme is really nice and clean, perfect for what I am trying to do. I have been tweaking here and there to get it just as I need it to be. But there is 1 area stumping me.
The 4 preset widgets located in the Home Page Top Area allow you to change the clickable images and titles and set URL links. However, there is no way to set the links to open in a new browser tab (target=”_blank”) which causes the visitor to launch externally without a way to get back to my site.
Does anyone know exactly where I can modify this setting to add the (target=”_blank¨) code for each of the 4 widgets?
Here is my site. You can see that when you click the facebook, twitter, or youtube links that they open in the same browser tab. I want them to open a new browser tab/window.

I’ve noticed some similar threads on here about changing the look of the Call to Action or “Button Link” (as described under Customize) for the Tonic theme, but I am still having troubles with getting it to do what I want.
I simply want to change the color of the button background and hover. I’m not sure if I need to go into Function.php or CSS, but either way I assume I should use a plugin to manage the changes instead of going right into either file, so as to keep these changes through theme updates.
I currently have my site on a Coming Soon page, and I’d like to keep it that way unless absolutely necessary to see the issue. In essence, all I need to do is change the color of the Call to Action button in the Jumbo headline. Make sense?

]]>I have been trying to install any and all types of captchas for my blog. It has been inundated with spam the past few months (something I only found recently showing up in my feed), and I need to up my security. I want to install captcha codes for leaving comments.

Also, when I try these plugins, I’ve made sure that the others are DEACTIVATED while working with new ones. I.E. I don’t have all captcha plugins activated at the same time.
I have tried several different captca plugins (Better WordPress reCaptcha; Captcha; Alpha Omega Captcha; Easy Captcha) and each time, the captcha code NEVER shows up in the comment part of a post. However, if I try to submit a comment (while NOT logged in as myself, so I just appear as any old user), it tells me that my captcha input was wrong and I should try again, or some variation of that. But the captcha code never shows up!
ANY help with this would be greatly appreciated. I am sensing this has something to do with the theme, since once of these plugins specifically said their plugin only works with WP, unmodified themes. I’m not sure, I just want to get this captcha up so I can stop the spam!
