I followed the documentation step by step to create slider, created category, created posts and assigned them to the category
went to Appearance – Customize -Theme Settings – Slider Settings
marked correct on show slider
added slider title, text , location, chose the category i created before , published the changes
however same home page appear as what it is, and the slider never show
