Very nice, but surprisingly uneasy to design with. Topically narrow.

This template is suitable for “key in hand” without a child theme, extensive customization from this base or by child theme is not recommended.
The front code is very heavy, for example the style.css has 5889 lines (comparatively Twenty Twelve has 1837 lines), and the others fronts codes are in the same proportions.
Hundreds of virtual css var(–global– …) certainly technical and geek performance, but unmanageable for a serious webdesigner and developer.
Sadly at the antipode of the greenCode, the lightness of the front is the basis to adopt now, for our planet.
Test shoot.

Twenty Twenty-One theme is a beautiful theme, clean design, easy customization. This is an excellent theme to get started with WordPress.
My suggestion is to improve the design compatible with the present user interface.
Thank you Twenty Twenty-One team.

For some time now, I only work with the themes from Automattic. They are robustly coded and don’t break my side. The basics like font display are always working flawlessly. And they have a graceful fallback for non-supported plugins, meaning your content will always have a minimum formatting with margins. Gone are the days that badly coded “premium” themes kept me busy for nothing.
This Twenty Twenty One theme is a no-nonsense mobile-first theme with a clear layout. WooCommerce shop, Sensei online courses and bbpress Forums are supported and look good. Together with the Gutenberg editor I can build pages I never thought I would be able to do as an end user even with dynamically pulled content like posts. No page builder required.
What I would wish from a future update is maybe make the blog category more prominent displaying it over the single post title. And then with full site editing coming up, it may be able to design the category page. This way the blog might be used more powerfully to use WordPress as a content management system for all types of content without custom post types. And optional looks for the blog page would be nice.

I used this theme. This is very very attractive and eye catching.

It’s not the worst theme ever, but it’s not as good as Twenty Twenty. Going to this from Twenty Twenty feels like a huge drop.
Twenty Twenty set the standard for WordPress default themes so high that it will be hard for any subsequent default themes to come close.

There’s a great deal this theme won’t do without custom CSS. I wouldn’t recommend it.

A cool theme with many options for drag and drop designers. For a developer the standard WordPress themes are always worth a close study. Here you can see the brand new options – and follow the visions of the desingers. Gutenberg is the heart and core of these attempts. Gutenberg is almost a WYSIWYG editor. But not quite there yet. The interaction between the stylesheet and the Gutenberg editor – style.css – that is where you should look for inspiration.

A very good typography attempt, mobile-first.

awesome – fantastic
I like the minimalistic style of this great theme. And I really like the pullquotes which can be floated left or right. Actually I was really very very happy about the great enhancements.
The integration of the Gutenberg-Blocks – and the plenty Gutenberg-Plugings is just great: i love this. The support is gerat: love the worldwidde community that works hard – and really loves to run the theme.
allready :: by far more than 500 000 downloads and installation. That is overwehlming!
above all. I am so glad that the great wp-community is so powerful.
The support here in the forum is great: in the support
forum I am now ready to give the theme the positive review it deserves.
keep up t he great work – it rocks!!!

Every year since 2015, I have deeply investigated the yearly WordPress theme. This one is the best one in a long time, if not ever. I love the basic starter with deep block editor support for easy customization. The fact that the theme is lightweight and loads fast makes it viable to use in any context, and to boot, child themeing is made to be super easy.
I will not include the link, but I expanded on all these points (and a few more) in a blog post titled ‘Why You Should Use The New WordPress Twenty Twenty-One Theme’. If you’re considering this theme, definitely go for it. If you’re still in doubt, check out that blog post.
This theme really is awesome. I hope the year 2021 is as good as the theme!

Earlier this week I started migrating from theme TwentySeventeen to theme TwentyTwentyOne. I could not believe how quick it was. My style.css in Twenty17-child was 464 lines long – in Twenty21-child it is just 265 lines, and most of that copied over and it now includes a lot more comments. And, no more patched up templates. Huge thanks for that – BUT …
Hey guys, websites usually have header images and you’ve taken then away! And, if you put header images in (via css or plugin) guess what – the image obliterates Site Branding. The only usable slot for a heading image is the site logo – and that needs a lot of stretching and it stays unchanged page to page.
Shouldn’t beat up you theme guys for this point, but half my time was wasted trying the Block Editor. I REALLY tried to use it but I found it totally impracticable for web pages. Since when do you have one paragraph for text and a separate paragraph for html? Then there are separate editing environments for each paragraph too. WHAT?? 2 days I sweated over the migration of the front page before I switched back to the Classic Editor. Please, please, bin it and have a rethink.
But, let’s not get grumpy. The resultant website is so much cleaner and better looking and I’m really pleased I switched over.

I use this theme on multiple blogs/websites. Two main things I liked most about Twenty Twenty-One: the loading speed & overall appearance.
I will be more than happy if the developers add SIDEBAR in a future version.
