I love this theme! Unfortunately, since I updated to WP 6.4.2, the mobile menu is not working. The lines for the menu show up, but when you click the button, nothing happens. Is this fixable?
]]>Although the selector works and the values are saved, the respective CSS isn’t applied in the frontend or in the editor. It appears that the class names are applied, but the colours remain as standard (blue).
]]>Hello Rich,
First of all thank you for this amazing theme. I am using Wabi on my travel blog. And facing issue with navigation.
When I open any single post, the open and close navigation menu, the page width gets changed and page gets overflow (not sure if this is correct term). Could you please check if it’s theme or something else is leading to this.
]]>Hi! The gutenberg navigation block doesn’t have an animation for the hamburger menu which can be seen on mobile. If you go to common themes like Twenty two, press the hamburger menu will bring up the menu with no animation so I’m pretty sure this is the default behavior for any theme that uses FSE. What I want to do is add javascript to animate the navigation menu when the hamburger menu is triggered. Does anyone have documentation on the element so I can change the code or alter it through the theme editor section in the admin panel? If you could point me in the right direction, I wouldn’t mind giving some support towards the theme since I use it
]]>Is there a way to achieve a fixed / sticky header with this theme or with the full site editor in general?
Also, with the navigation menu, is there a way to change the text so that it’s all caps and so that the current page is highlighted?
]]>Hi,
I have added the post to post navigation (next and previous) to the single template. You can see the result here:
So please, how can I get the same reduced wide for this as the post content has?

I’m trying to have an image directly under my header. I “really” need the corners to “not” be rounded and also for the image to go, full-width, across the page. It would look really nice if I could only make this happen. Could you please help? Thanks.

Hi,
Every time I add an image with Wabi, it rounds the corners without asking me and then gives no option to change it. Does anyone know how to change this and what other “good” theme do you suggest?
Hi, again Rich!
I hope you are doing well. I am currently using the Wabi theme; it is great; thanks for making it!
I have a few suggestions/feedback for you. I hope you won’t mind. ??
1. Currently, out of the box, the site title (header & footer) shows h1 by default. In general, a URL should have only one h1 tag. However, due to HTML 5, crawlers can find out the main content’s h1, but still, to make things easier for crawlers if we can change that site title to <p> out of the box, it will be great.
2. Also, currently, all the individual titles of the index pages are wrapped with <h1>; this is also not a best practice; for index pages, specifically category or tag, the title of the archive should wrap with h1, and the posts should wrap with h2 tag. We can do all this by editing the template, but it will be much easier if you can make these settings out of the box; then, it will be much easier.
3. The search bar is missing on mobile; um yeah, searches rarely happen on mobile but still, if you can add the search bar under the nav menu (in mobile) or just like menu icon if a search icon there on the menu, then it will be much accessible for the readers.
Thanks again for making this minimalistic theme.
Cheers,
Saswata
Hello Rich,
Thanks for making this minimalistic, bold design theme.
Umm,,, in your blog I do see social sharing icons are there below the content, does it comes with the blocks or do I need to install a plugin and add that to the template?
thanks!
]]>In functions.php, Wabi preloads the main font:
function wabi_preload_webfonts() {
?>
<link rel="preload" href="<?php echo esc_url( get_theme_file_uri( 'assets/fonts/Inter-Roman.var.woff2' ) ); ?>" as="font" type="font/woff2" crossorigin>
<?php
}
Why is there .var
before the font’s file extension? The names of the font files in Wabi’s fonts folder don’t have this .var
. .var
doesn’t show in the source code either.
Is .var
necessary?
Hi Rich,
I started recently to work with FSE and Gutenberg and still learning the ropes. I have created some decent looking landing pages in Twenty-Twenty-Two
[ redundant link removed ] and with a simple CSS tweak I was able to have the rows/groups one after the other without gaps.
I added
.wp-site-blocks .wp-block-group { margin-top: 0}
and the issue was fixed.
As I installed wabi on my staging site I can see the there are basically no margins most of the time, but sometimes some gaps between the blocks. Bit irregular and hard to figure out.
I’ve started fixing this by adding spacers, but I would appreciate to:
a. understand the different behavior between 2022 and wabi
b. look for a more elegant fix
On a similar vein another issue: I started customizing the colors based on my own palette but when I select my bright orange in the “rows” setting as a background the theme changes this to pink. Bit surprising that the user on some color hues loses control. For example the block starting with “Do you have a big presentation coming up” is set to orange but shows pink.
Thank a lot for your input!
Kind Regards,
Matteo
How can I change the dimensions of the content block on the page template? I’m not able to adjust the width of the content, and the content block can only be positioned in the middle of the page versus on the left-hand side like Rich’s site.
]]>Greetings. I would like to know how to insert the comment box in the individual posts of this theme. I’ve tried using different plugins and it doesn’t work. Thanks.
]]>Hi
Love the site. Just switched from the “Tabor” theme I purchased on ThemeForest a few years ago.
When reading a post:
? Underneath the featured image, there is a coloured line.
(This doesn’t show when logged into WordPress, only when logged out.)
? Social icons switch to the 3 default icons.
(I chose just one social icon.)
? The footer changes to “Proudly powered by WordPress”.
(This is different to the text I have on the homepage)

]]>Excellent theme. Beautiful, light and minimalist. I’m seriously considering switching to it. Today, after testing the theme, a question arose: What image size do you recommend? Another: any radio aspect you suggest? Marcelo from Brazil
