How do I get a little more space around the searchbox … a little more black colour around it (like it is centered from top to buttom) ?

please tell a method to add an site-logo to your theme.

I found a hind in “inc/content-extensions.php” in Line 179

bloginfo( ‘name’ );
wpstart_logo_image();
?>

…

But when I try to add a path to a logo, like

bloginfo( ‘name’ );
wpstart_logo_image(<img src=’/images/headers/black-thumbnail.png’ />);
?>

nothing happens.

Hello. Hopefully you get this message and reply ASAP, since the last reply I got from a previous post that was posted months ago only recently got a response.

Starting about a week ago, a photo sildeshow plugin stopped functioning on my company’s website. I tried reverting back to older versions of the slideshow and also other plugins, as well as reverting back to older versions of wordpress. I have also tried to install and test other slideshows, which do not seem to function either.

How can I remove “Leave A Reply” text and box from the bottom of all my pages. I would love to use this clean and simple design for a client to display her art work, but the “Leave A Reply” interferes with the esthetics of the page.

I am having a serious problem adding additional pages to the navigation menu. This is a recent problem, which started about 1.5 weeks ago. After a certain point (i.e. the 8th link in the main navigation menu), I lose the ability to add pages/links to the navigation bar. They either won’t add, disappear when I add to the menu, or they don’t work. I’m not sure if it is because I have multiple levels of subnavigation, but now I have lost hours of work having to rebuild the navigation over and over. This is a very strange problem and I have never seen this happen before. I have used this particular theme on quite a few websites and have never run into this problem.

PLEASE HELP! This problem is seriously putting me behind in my work and having an adverse affect on my company’s business!

Not sure whether this is a theme issue or me being dense, but…

If I have a post with a featured image, if I click on the image it brings up a bigger version of the image – so far, fine. However, the link below the title on that page ‘Back to …’ links back to this same image rather than the post I came from (the desired outcome, and as far as I can work out what the theme is supposed to do). I can see where the code is coming from in the theme (in the wpstart_entry_title), but can’t work out why the link is pointing to the image attachment url rather than the post url.

Hey guys! I am kinda stumped as to how to adjust the header height in the WPSTART theme. The theme has a header upload feature on the backend that requires the header image to be 940 × 300 pixels. I simply want to upload a 940 x 212 pixel image without it being resized.

I have created a child theme…what do i do next?

Hi, I just updated to the latest version of the theme and it’s changed the layout of my site. I’ve managed to get the header image to the old size and position, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get the navigation menu back below the header image. I’ve inspected elements and played around but just can’t find the right thing/s to alter. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks.

I had been using the “Quote” format for the initial “sticky” post which had a full welcome to the site https://maine-src-dbvi.org/ (still in development). But the latest update to the WP Start Theme apparently changed this so that all of the formats show only a truncated version of each post. Any chance you can put it back to the way it was – for at least one of the formats to remove the excerpt function which truncates the post? I understand, my alternative is to create a child theme and edit the functions.php, but I would prefer not having to do all that if possible. Thanks!

I haven’t been able to get the background color to change. I’ve tried it in 2 different locations. I’ve also tried to add a background image in the two locations and it’s not showing up. I did notice a couple of times when I went to load the site, it flashed the background image and then brought up the site with the standard white background.

The 2 places, I tried changing the background were:
dashboard side bar under Appearance -> background
The other spot was under Appearance -> customize and then in the left hand side, I went to Colors and selected a background color.
When those didn’t work, I tried putting in background images in the same locations.

What am I missing/doing wrong?

Hi, when browsing using a mobile device the navigation menu is replaced with the navigation dropdown button. Is there a way to change this behaviour? If not, is there a way to re label the element as when using screen readers the label is “Navigation Identical 2” which obviously isn’t great.

Are there any known incompatibilities problems with this host?

When I installed your theme, the custom options were working. After I refreshed the page, they stopped working. Only half the options appeared. The only function that worked was the CANCEL button.

I had the same problem with the Twenty Fourteen Extended plugin.

Is it possible to make your theme backward compatible to 3.1.4 (or in more general to 3.0+

I run WP 3.1.4 on a small router-based server with mysql4 which is supported by WP up to 3.1.4. With more routers like Netgear or any other broadcom based solutions using optware it might become more popular to run small home webpages in such environment.

I think there is a missing line (and proper endif;):

before :
function wpstart_setup()

When i overriden the wpstart_setup in child theme I got:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare wpstart_setup() in THEPATH/blog/wp-content/themes/wpstart/functions.php on line 10

I’ve been using the WPstart theme for several months and have been thinking about changing the post format from excerpts to full posts. Where would I do that? Also, is it possible to have the home page (recent posts) without excerpts, but the category, tag and archive pages with excerpts?

I have attempted to create a single column template (one without sidebar) and it just doesn’t show the sidebar. I’d like the content area to expand the full width of the page. Any help is appreciated.
