2FA (2factor) no captcha but refuses to let me in

I have a plugin that adds 2 factor authentication to my site. After installing/enabling advanced noCaptcha, I can put in my password and click the box and log in.. however, the immediate next screen is where I enter my 2 factor code. After entering that, I get the error “Please solve Captcha correctly”.. but there is no captcha on this page.

What can I do? Is there any way to get back into my site?

Hi all,

I’ve always had no problem logging in to my WordPress with two-step authenticator, but today it has begun to show the error even when I have entered the correct codes.

“ERROR: The Google Authenticator code is incorrect or has expired”

I’ve down a bit of browsing around, it seems like it’s something to do with the time syncing? Unfortunately, I’m too noob to understand how to log on to my “web server” and the likes… would really appreciate some help! (V. desperate here!)

FYI when using this plugin you add two-factor authentication by looking at users and click on edit. The email second-factor is very fast. If you want a time based second factor download the Google Authenticator to your smartphone — it shows a six digit number that changes every 60 seconds. Just type that number as the second factor.

If the plugin had just a little more documentation it would be fantastic.

I lost my old phone that had my google authenticator codes linked to it and need to restore my account.

Anyone know how to accomplish this? WordPress.com support doesn’t seem to allow me to reset it.
