Called Bluehost to double check it wasn’t server issues, and they are showing ISSUES FROM WORDPRESS.com/org
Telling people to jump through hoops and try a bazillion things that DON’T work is not sufficient.
Even the Support Forum is having issues with submitting questions…have submitted a few questions only to have the support page return an “oops, page not found” or 404 ERROR. WT?
Even TURNED OFF ALL PLUGINS.
Sorry for yelling, but I’m mightly frustrated and frankly pissed because I keep getting told that it’s SOME OTHER ISSUE when in fact, everything was working great until latest update.
Guess I’ll be downgrading back to v4.something or other and looking for web building service. from this point forward, because honestly, not everyone that utilizes WP understands what “rest apis” or Phps and string theory of the cosmos of whatever coding language is being thrown at those of us who don’t understand it.
Yes…I know..read the documentation.
This does no good when it’s all written in Dead Patagonian language (which is what it is to me).
Terribly disappointed with this latest upgrade and the seemingly blase response from the WP Team.
EDITED: to correct line on Bluehost.

]]>Our website was hacked a few months ago and was redirecting to a Viagra ad. I since installed wordfence and the site is running clean. When I type the website into Google, and access it from the link, I am getting this message.
Not Found
The requested URL /gunplay-butterfat.php was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
When I refresh, the website loads normally. I have been googling for days looking for an answer, and I have found absolutely nothing.
Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. :/
The website is obrienspubsbrandon.com.
Thank you!
]]>I am a newbie at this and do not have a great understanding of the intricacies of wordpress.
My website is working fine, but when I try to access the wp-login page to access my admin dashboard, I get a 404 error code. My site hosting company says that the problem is not with them. I have not accessed this for about two months. Before it was fine and now I get only a white page stating “Your search – https://domainname.com/wp-login – did not match any documents”.
Sometimes I get a 404 error code?
I do have access to C/Panel, but in phpMyAdmin all my files are listed as oad_filename for some reason that I do not know.
Some help would be appreciated greatly

]]>I have gone back to delete all plugins , started with the 23theme, added one plug in at a time. deleted some plugins, which might have caused any issues.
All plugins I have now show no problems.
Thought I have it all fixed as it seemed to work ok and here we go again. Same sh..different day.
I also have some HTML squiggles show up on my blog, which i have no idea where they come from, since I did not alter anything.
Another problem: Now I can not install my favicon.
I need someone reliable for real to help me with my computer issues, since I am very fed up to read through forum post with closed topics that were also not resolved who had similar problems.
And YES, I am a piece of work.
Help!!!!! PLEASE

Thanks.
]]>site is https://www.my-trading-blog.com
I cannot get into the admin dashboard whatever I do. I get 404 error every time. I have tried direct typing:
https://www.my-trading-blog.com/wordpress/wp-login.php
I have tried that without www as well.
I have tried /wordpress/wp-admin/wp-login.php
I have tried /wordpress/wp-admin/edit.php
… bunch more like this, anything to try to get the login screen to pop up.
I have tried clicking the admin link on the website
I have tried deleting and replacing wp-login.php
I have tried renaming the plugins folder
I have tried renaming the theme folder I am using so it reverts back to basic theme (it does not, just gives server error)
I have checked wp_options in database to make sure the site link is correct (it is)
I have tried resetting the mysql password for the site.
I have tried repairing the database, just in case something is off
I have renamed .htaccess to .htaccessold to see if that was the issue, did not help
All of these did nothing and trying to get into the admin dashboard always results in 404 error.
I was running WP 3.0, when I started having this error I manually upgraded to 3.2.1 but that did not help it. I also tried to manually navigate to the upgrade area to see if it needed to upgrade the database, but that gives 404 error.
any help would be appreciated, I am out of ideas.
]]>I have uploaded my site and gone for a custom permalink option but get the 404 code returned. default works fine but any change from that won’t work.
Here’s what I have tried so far:
Looking at the forums there are many many people with the same problem but no solution. I have deleted, edited, reuploaded and remanmed htaccess file but nothing seems to work with that. That seems to be most posts point of issue.
I have checked the database and it says my permanlink is coded correctly :
permalink_structure /%category%/%postname%/ yes .
but for some reason it always returns 404 forbidden.
The custom permalinks work off line with my xampp set up which I used to test the site fully before uploading and it also works in the same setup on my second site www.shapebubble.com. some forum posts mentioned apache being on, how i check its on on my problem site is is that only for offline
I have left the site broken so you can check it, www.venueshire.co.uk please can someone help as after search all the net I simply can’t find the answer
many thanks
Adam
