Getting 404 error message for wp-admin.php on localhost

Hi there,

I’ve migrated by blog to my localhost using Updraft Plus. It worked flawlessly, but now I can’t access my WP-admin page.

After entering my log in credentials I get a 404 error message (page not found).

I’m using ApacheFriends XAMPP Version 8.2.12 on Windows 10.

How can I fix this?

Please note, my live site is currently offline, since I will be moving to a new webhost.

Hi there,

I’ve set up a localhost clone of my blog soundsandcolors.de using Xampp 8.2.12 and Duplicator.

But now I can’t access my WP backend getting a 404 error message:

No Results Found. The page you requested could not be found. Try refining your search, or use the navigation above to locate the post.

Pages and posts are working fine, no 404 error messages.

How can I fix this?

404 error message: missing css file in plugin folder

Hi Giannis,

I ran into a 404 error coming from the plugin.

I’ve updated my site to the latest version of WordPress and updated all plugins and themes on my website.

When I go to chrome developer tools > console. There’s a fatal 404 error pointing to this plugin.

Error Message:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 ()

File location:
/wp-content/plugins/terms-and-conditions-per-product/assets/css/plugin-core.css

The error message appears on all the pages of my website. I really love that this plugin allows for different terms per product! Is there an upcoming new release of this plugin that will fix this error message?

404 error message when logging into wpadmin

Hi Everyone,

Last week I signed up to Bluehost and started to work on my very first wordpress website. Today I have tried to log into back into wpadmin to continue designing, but I am only coming up against the following message.

Not Found
The requested URL was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I have googled, YouTubed, tried to start completely again, with no sign of hope. I am not techie AT ALL, very much a designer, and I feel this is a very simple problem to someone in the know. I just wish that person was me. I have spent 4 hours trying to tackle this. One of the solutions mentioned changing my wp_options, but I do not even this I have Tt5_options page.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there I recently started onsite seo and 2 of my links are now broken I was changing the tab name bracelts to bracelets croydon. I tried adding new pages to correct the problem but with no success. Can you please offer any advice to assist?

Everything but my home page loads a 404 error page. Everything looks okay in the editing mode, but once I try to view page, I get the error page. Any help appreciated.

I am new to WordPress, and don’t quite know what I’m doing. I’m designing my website using a them I purchased and while creating my home or index page I was able to preview and view my page as I was working on it. I have now created a second page, called About Us, and started editing it (it was a theme page that I am editing and changing) and I want to see what it looks like but the preview button and the view page button both give me an error in my browser (I’m using Firefox which I believe is the latest version) that says this:
The page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Please try the following:

Make sure that the Web site address displayed in the address bar of your browser is spelled and formatted correctly.
If you reached this page by clicking a link, contact the Web site administrator to alert them that the link is incorrectly formatted.

I have actually tried opening other random pages from the theme and get the same error message, only the home page I created will let me view in the browser.
Since I really don’t know what I”m doing, I need to be able to see what the code looks like after I alter something, so I really need to preview it. Can you help me.

I don’t know if it is relevant, but I also wasn’t able to make a menu that worked…all the pages in the menu, if I clicked on them from the home page gave me the same error message. So I deleted the menu thinking, maybe I needed to create all my pages first and then make the menu? (Before I had created the menu using pages from the theme I purchased).

I would love to have this resolved so I can work on my site.

I keep getting 404 Error messages. Some of the pages I was getting a 404 error for didn’t even exist and now it is giving me 404 error messages for pages that do exist. I switched my permalink to the post name earlier, then I read in other wordpress forums that changing from the default permalink may be the cause. I changed back to the default and got another error message because I put the permalinks back to default.

Hi,

I am new with wordpress and i installed wordpress using softaculous on our server and the domain name is registered elsewhere from my web hosting provider.

I get a 404 error message cannot access my WP-admin page.
Stranger thing is that i have a VMware Zimbra web client login page on my homepage for some reason and i have no clue how.

Please help spent a lot but nothing seems to be working.

While I try to see admin and login page, it redirects to 404 error message. Found index.html is added to all my links.
Eg: https://etechtricks.com/contact-us/index.html
https://etechtricks.com/category/laptops/index.html

My theme also looks broken. Anyone please help me…:(
