Error 404 when trying to access sitemap.xml or sitemap.rss

@wpsmort Hi developer.
I have problem. I read this topic but it can’t help me. I have apache server. when I use subdomain the sitemap is working correctly. but when I transfer subdomain to subdirectory the sitemap is not working and error 404 not found. please help me.

It’s a common problem and I’ve tried all the solutions, but I still have the problem:
If I try to find the sitemap that should be created with Yoast, I get a 404- not found error.
– I tried to save the permalinks-settings
– Disabled Yoast and enable it again
– Removed Yoast and re-installed it.
– Cleared the cache
– Changed the theme
– Disabled all the other plugins.
– Read a lot of issues about it on the internet and tried all solutions.
– There is no .htaccess file on the server. I created one with the following text :

Sitemap url

Hi, I have a url on my wordpress site (domainname.com/mypage) , which is just a normal wordpress page. However I have a sitemap called mypage-sitemap.xml which is generated by yoast seo. I have child pages /mypage/page1 /mypage/page2 etc. When I have the permalink for mypage set to domainname.com/mypage the sitemap does not work. I get a 404 error and when I change the permalink for /mypage to /anythingelse it works as long as the permalink is not the same as (this)-sitemap.xml . Did anyone experience this issue? is there any workaround or is it an internal bug?

Hi Team,

We are having 500 internal server error for sitemap.xml generated dynamically by ALL-In-One SEO Pack along with W3 Total Cache, which was resolved by “unchecking” dynamically generating URLs. [Ref this link: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/500-internal-server-error-with-w3-total-cache]

Everything is working fine now except

1. sitemap.xml is not being updated even after clicking on update now button
and
2. sitemap_post_tag.xml & sitemap_post_format.xml is throwing 404 error.

Hello,
can you help me please, I use (Google XML Sitemaps), and I’d like to start using yours, but when I installed your pluging and uninstalled (Google XML Sitemaps), but when i try to ging in the siemap url it gives me page 404, and google doesnt index my links, is there anything to do to solve this problem ?

bug: sitemap by default activated, doesnt create sitemap

WP Version: 4.3.1
Theme: mh_magazine_lite, twentyfifteen
Plugins: No other sitemap related plugins installed

The xml sitemap feature is activated by default after installation.
CLicking the xml-sitemap button or calling the sitemap url manually, shows in the 404 page.
I dont think it was a theme issue, since twentyfifteen throws the same error.

I had to deactivate and the reactivate the feature, and the sitmap url showed the sitemap.
