How to stop WordPress from deleting Spaces

Good morning all,

tldr; I don’t want WordPress to delete extra spaces in my posts anymore

Has anyone found a way to stop WordPress from deleting extra spaces purposely added in posts? This has been an issue going back over 10 years with ALL of my WordPress sites, including those using the default WordPress themes.

I’m sure it is by design, but it’s one of those design decisions that doesn’t make sense to an old timer like me, so I was curious if anyone had a site wide solution (I did search around for several minutes but didn’t find anything.)

Note that I can add them in the classic editor text mode, but as soon as I switch to visual they all get deleted.

Here’s an example:
One Space before
Two Spaces before
Three Space before
Four Spaces before
—–Five Dashes Before

Adding Spaces in Field Names

I am using Contact Form 7 to push form submits to another Email Data Base (ACTON). The ACTON data base name field have a space between the field names. for example “First Name”.

ex. [text* First Name id:012345 class:formFieldText]

The problem is that Name is gone on the live page when I look at the code. The code above only shows (name=”First” value=””).

I have tried adding and _ like this [text* First Name id:012345 class:formFieldText] with no results.

The problem is the space. What can I do on the Contact Form7 side to push a space between first name and last name.

Adding space between paragraphs on blog page

Hi,

I’m trying to add paragraph spacing for the posts on blog page so it looks the same as the single blog post page.

You can see that there is correct paragraph spacing added to the single post and this is how i want it https://bildeopplaster.no/7w5

However on the blog page you can see that the same post doesn’t have the correct paragraph spacing which is shown in the single blog post page: https://bildeopplaster.no/7w6

I have tried to add
to the post, but then it just gets extra spacing on the single blog post page, which doesn’t look good.

How can I fix this so that the single blog post page content looks the same as the blog page content with proper paragraph spacing?

Recently, I bought the COLr theme from Horizonalwp because it was exactly what I was looking for. I runs just fine, but there’s one ‘problem’ – I can’t seem to figure out how to add the ‘blank/white’ ‘space’ between links/pages/menu items (like in the demo, between “Winter” and “about”). I’ve tried contacting the maker, but to no avail. My customised menu is now just a bunch of links thrown together, without much of organisation or hierachy. Is there anyone who can help me figure this out and/or tell me how to do this?

Adding space between widgets

I need to add some space between my widgets as they’re all close together. I’ve had to add empty widgets to add more space. I have played around with margins, padding and borders to no avail so can someone tell me what’s wrong. The site is www.urbanspirit.co.uk.
