Hi there, I have the following setup: WP with Beaver Builder, PMS and Woocommerce. I have a registration page which allows one to register for only one type of subscription which is “free”. The subscription is needed before one can access a woocommerce shop (as that is for members only). The role that these registrants are offered as set in the subscription setting page is “customer”. However after registering they are assigned “administrator” rights as well as “customer” rights. This is a significant vulnerability. Please advise, thanks in advance.

UM Admin-rights in front-end for user necessary

Place: user menu, function bar, pen and speech bobble signs

Why the UM plug-in shows in front-end signs for possibility to post and comment, but it requires admin-rights? Then it is not a front-end application, when it requires to go to the dashboard instead make it possible from the front-end.

Had to let another have admin rights but without giving my password…love the time feature. I might upgrade to the pro so I can see all the info. but for a free plugin, it is great.

good day!
I’ve got WP site with full access – FTP, MYSQL, admin panel. At the moment I can NOT see ‘Install new plugin’ button and also instead of Update WordPress – I see ‘Notify admin to update’.
As I understand – the was main admin on site, but I took the site after hi was deleted. The is no multisite or anything like that here.
What I can do to restore all functionality?

I have a production site that I regularly maintain and use daily. It’s for my store and I have many users who use it to submit support tickets and register for events.

A few weeks ago, my site was fine in the evening, but then when I got into work in the morning I found that the admin account no longer had administrative rights. I fixed it using MySQL and this post https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/cant-access-admin-page-23/#post-8525486

I did some initial research and wasn’t able to determine a cause. It was suggested that maybe a plugin updated and it messed things up, and I figured if it was a one-time thing, then I could deal with that.

Then the same thing happened last night. Specifically the admin had been switched to the subscriber role (the first time, admin had been switched to something unique, like someone had manually toggled this right here and that right there). But I can assure you that no one was doing any updates last night.

This morning, I reset admin’s privileges again using MySQL, updated all my plugins (they were mostly up to date) and reinstalled WordPress.

Note that I’m now going to go ahead and uninstall User Role Editor and change the admin password, but if anyone can think of anything else I should do to make this not happen again, I’d appreciate the help!

Cheatin’ uh? You are not allowed to customize

I’m getting the
“Cheatin’ uh? You are not allowed to customize the appearance of this site.”
error message when I try to customize my theme in any way.
What is strange is that I have another site using the same theme and most of the same plugins and is on the some host server and I have no problems customizing the theme on that website.
I have done the following:
Tried different browsers, no difference. Tried logging out and back in, rebooting etc. Tried adding a new Admin user with full rights.
Tried deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem – made no difference
Tried switching to the unedited default Twenty Fourteen Theme – made no difference, still gets same error regardless of which theme.
I’m running WP 4.4.2 with everything updated to the latest vesrions.

Admin rights disabled after moving site to new host

Hi,

I’ve moved my site, something I’ve done many times but this time on database import I encountered some problems one which is listed below
The site is operational but I cannot save or publish anymore. The textblock is no longer visible and the ability to add images.
I’ve tried switching to a default theme, disabling all plugins and using the default theme only. I don’t know my way around MySQL and I’ve read elsewhere that I need to create wp_user_roles in the wp_options table.
Also I need to say I have debugged WP, optimised and repaired the database and nothing works.
Error with database import:

Hello,

I have recently been contracted to re-design a website for a client who had her site setup and designed by another company. She is not receiving any responses from the company and does not have administrator rights to her own wordpress site. Can you please explain how we can correct this so that she can work on the site herself or allow me to do the same. Could you please email me with information so that I can relay it to my client. She can then provide WordPress wityh any proof of ownership required so that she can be made the administrator of her webite with full access.

Case
I have a closed educational community site (requires log in to view) using WordPress, Buddypress and additional plugins. I want to use Insert Pages to display events from Events Manager on the front page within the posts displayed there, so users can suscribe to activities from there.

Problem
The content called by Insert Pages only displays when you are Admin. This goes for all types of pages/posts that I try to embed anywhere on the site, not only for the abovementioned case.

Do you have any idea what may be causing this? If neccesary I can provide credentials as an admin and suscriber so you can see for yourself on the test site.

Adding a page to home page

Hi all. I’m brand spanking new to website building and I’m sorry that my question is so basic but I feel like my head might explode. I’ve been given my website by the person that created it and now I want to add a new page. I log on under with my website name then /wp-admin. I can add a page under the add page tab on the left hand side of the dashboard, it tells me it is published but I can’t see it on the homepage of my website. I’ve read questions that say I need to add a page under theme tab but I can’t find this option on my dashboard does this mean they haven’t given me full admin rights??? Please help
