Trying to build a schedule plugin with now and next feature

I’m trying to build a weekly schedule plugin that displays the schedule on a page for a radio station that also allows me to retrieve the current show, next show and the show after that to display in the header and home page.
I have looked at many current schedule and timetable plugins unable to find one with this extra feature and am unsure if it will be best to try and alter an existing plugin or start from scratch.
I understand how a lot of php works and was wondering if anyone had any hinters as where to start with this project?

Altering the ABOUT page main comment

hi, I can’t seem to change the About page’s main comment. I added a comment which I thought would change it. But it just added it under the existing example they had. How do I do this? I find no functionality for it. Thanks a lot. Jerry66

Rotating banner in index.php

Hi there. I currently run a rotating banner script on my forums called ‘ultimate banner’.

It’s a simple operation, whereby the .js points to a directory of images and gives instructions for these to be rotated. The forum’s header contains:

which activates and displays the rotating banners.

I’ve been trying to add exactly the same thing to my front page, www.rapnews.co.uk

I’ve added a unique ultimatebanner.js in my default theme’s main directory, and told it to display what images I want et. I’ve been added the script I use in the forum header, to where I’d like it on the index.php.

I’ve had little joy with this. The main page loads slowly and when it’s completed, there’s no image and the status bar reads ‘error in page’.

I can’t think what I’m doing wrong. The official instructions of the script say to insert:

into the body of the page you want the script on. For whatever reason years go, I didn’t use this for the forums. However, I’ve tried this on the main page and it too poses errors. It merely displays an unloaded image called ‘default.jpg’. This isn’t referenced in the .js nor does it exist.

For the time being, I’ve deleted all script and desired images for the main page, and merely have a static, non rotating image up.

Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks, Tony.

Adding a banner onto my main WP page

Hi guys,

I run www.rapnews.co.uk and I was wondering how hard it would be for a novice user of wordpress to make an alteration to my main page’s design, so that there was a banner at the top of the list of posts, beneath the header image.

What I’m aiming to do is something similar to what’s show in this photoshop mockup:

If I could allow this banner to rotate a few different images in the same location, that’d be great also.
