Ad-hoc Backup Never Runs

Hi there – I’ve been trying to complete a backup for days. I press “Backup ASAP” and get a notice that an ad-hoc backup will complete in a few hours. I check a few hours later and the dashboard still says “There are no backups currently stored. Why not run a backup now?.” How do I run an instant backup and confirm that it worked?

I have detected the problem in object after upgrading JetPack from 4.1.1 to 4.2 in a number of sites with ALTERNATE_WP_CRON set as true in wp-config.
I have installed WP Crontrol to troubleshoot and I noticed that jetpack_sync_cron is always first in the cron list, and that it does not run. If I manually delete jetpack_sync_cron from the cron list, the URLs get back to normal without ?doing_wp_cron, but after a while the event comes back to the list and the problem rises again.
The situation did not change after upgrade to 4.2.1 and 4.2.2.
Did anyone else have the same problem? Any ideas on how to fix?

My backwpup is getting an error message since last few update, thankfully someone from this support page mentioned about adding :

define( 'ALTERNATE_WP_CRON', true );

on the wp-config.php and suddenly it back to works like a charm, but today I notice something’s different. I saw there an extra line of my post url, it suddenly adds :

doing_wp_cron=xxxxxx

Is there any workaround to get the original url back?

Excellent Plugin – Thank you.
Would it be possible to add ALTERNATE_WP_CRON? This may seem an odd request however when using BackUp Buddy some hosts do not allow a request back to the server which is fine if you are happy to have the ?doing_wp_cron=xxxxxxx at the end of your URL (which may clients are not).
Currently I have to toggle the ALTERNATE_WP_CRON, upload via FTP, run the backups, toggle the ALTERNATE_WP_CRON, upload via FTP.
Your plugin would be the ideal solution to my problem.

Plugin Stop working if u use ALTERNATE_WP_CRON

My server hoster recently doesnt allow me to trigger chrons the standard way and so for scheduled posts such i am forced to use the WordPress alternative by setting ALTERNATE_WP_CRON inside the wp_config.php file.

However when i do this i notice this plugin now fails to start (update the XML file). For example if i had a scheduled post and when it posts then this plugin doesnt recreate the xml file. It does when i use the normal cron method (not using ALTERNATE_WP_CRON)

Any ideas?
