Currently we are using an old CDN plugin that works ok but we would prefer to use something else in-case support ends for that plugin. We already have all the Amazon s3 credentials including sub domain for our images so all we are looking to do is add those credentials into a new plugin and take over where the old one left off.
However, we have spent hours trying to get the W3 Total Cache Plugin to work using the CDN but it seems that if you already have what is required it wont work and it seems it wants you to create new distributions etc.
So our question is this, if we have a set of credentials that we want to keep with a bucket etc can they be be simply plugged into the plugin or is W3 Total Cache just for new set ups?
]]>I just launched my online shop but a customer came up with an issue.
I’m using theme: Highend (https://hb-themes.com/themes/highend/)
and I’m using the following additional services/plugins to sell digital downloads:
– WooCommerce: to set up the shop
– AWS –> Amazon S3 storage: as external service to store my video tutorials (between 2,61 GB and 4,1 GB)
– Amazon S3 storage plugin: to serve Amazon S3 video tutorials download links when someone purchases.
The client purchased 3 of my digital products (here https://www.marcograssiphotography.com/tutorials/) and started the download. The downloads started, but then he got this message “Failed – Network error” and the downloads have all failed. On a side note, he tried 3 times for each product and never succeeded.
My file download method in Woocommerce is set to -> Force Downloads as I read it is safer for keeping the links hidden. Woocommerce itself and also Amazon S3 don’t suggest using Redirect Only.
Do you know what is wrong? Can you help?
Best,
Jessica
UPDATED: I just wanted to point out that I found it’s not anything coming from Amazons3 buckets, it’s from Cloudfront. So when I turn off Cloudfront the images show. Not to sure why this has started doing this as it has been working fine until recently.
]]>Which one is the has the best price?
Currently I have over 40,000 images and I pay under $3.00/m at Amazons3. So I was mainly wondering if I changed to Google cloud will the price be the same or more expensive (and if so how more expensive)?
Thanks

]]>*note: I am not using the Amazon S3 Downloads Plug-In for WordPress. I am doing everything native.
Objective: to have large video files (2-6GB+) that are hosted on Amazon S3 be downloaded via my wordpress site using WooCommerce.
Problem: users are capable of starting the download, but the download is stopping before complete and when users try to unzip file, they either get “access denied” or “unable to unzip” errors.
WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Downloadable Products > File Download Method > was originally set to “Force Downloads”
Downloads Require Login: Yes
Grant Access to Downloadable Products After Payment: Yes
Using these settings, the “bucket URL code” was inserted into the URL for the Product Download in WooCommerce.
Users were experiencing some kind of time out, where the downloads were not completing, but they wouldn’t not tell the user that. The download would simply stop and people would think they had the full .zip. It would get to about 2-3GB then end. Some people are able to download partial .zip files that only have a couple of the videos in the folder, while for others the .zip would just not open at all. “Unable to Unzip” errors.
First Fix Attempt I noticed that if I sent someone the direct URL from the Amazon S3 > All Buckets > “File” > Properties > Link “https://s3.amazonaws.com/…” the download would work fine, no problems. So rather than using the “bucket URL code” as the URL, I simply switched to using the direct URL code from this Link for my product download. I also added “Grantee: Everyone” in the “Permissions” section of Amazon S3 for that particular download.
This resulted in the same problem.
Second Fix Attempt I switched the “File Download Method” from Force Downloads to “Redirect Only”
This also resulted in the same problem for users.
The strangest thing about all of this is that when I try downloading these items myself, the downloads complete and unzip fine. So I am not experiencing this error on my end. But when anyone else tries, it 100% of the time fails.
This problem has perplexed me. Can anyone out there help?
