Ignore this eventually found the answer on the Time.ly forum

(It is the WordPress setting in Settings > General that sets the event time display)

It may be in the settings but I can’t find it.

Is it possible to have the event times show as 24 hour clock not am and pm. The create event is set to 24 hour but the display is 12 hour.

To ensure correct entry of events, a 24-hour yes/no setting would be nice in Calendar Options, When “no” is selected, a mandatory am/pm selection box would be nice in the begin- and end-time data fields in Manage Events. I’m not going to be the one always entering calendar events – these checks would make sure event times are entered correctly. My instructions for event entry will be to always put “am” or “pm” after the time as appropriate, as 24-hour time is not the norm for my viewers or my people who work on the website.

I’ve changed the date and time format in the general options page to H:i:s (24 hour format), but the list of posts in the Manage/Posts page presents the times in 12 hour (AM/PM) format. Is this by design or have I missed some setting?
