I have been encountering an issue with links in my Facebook post descriptions that should lead to my website but instead result in a black page. When users click the link, two buttons appear asking them if they want to continue to my website or return to Facebook. However, the button to continue to my website does not work, and nothing happens when clicked. The “back to Facebook” button works fine.
Upon using the Facebook Sharing Debugger tool (https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/), I found the following warning: “Missing Properties The following required properties are missing: fb:app_id”
I then followed your article on how to request the ID and key, which I entered in the RankMath dashboard under –> Social Meta –> Facebook App and Facebook Secret, but the error message persists.
Attempts I’ve made to resolve the issue:
It is worth mentioning that the faulty URLs in the posts, which do not lead to my website, are from paid ads and from ads that appear to my followers in their feeds, rather than the ones found on my fan page. The original links on my fan page work fine. Only URLs from these paid ads + feed ads/posts lead to the black page with the two buttons, with the one meant to take users to my website not working.
Do you have any idea why the app ID isn’t being recognized, even though the Scraped URL report detects the code ()?
Thank you and best regards
I have been looking in the Miscellaneous section of the plugin but I can’t find anywhere to add the Facebook App ID or Secret. Because of that, the Facebook sharing of the plugin is not working. Can you help me please ? Thanks
I am getting “WP-APPBOX: The App ID is not recognized. ” error. WP-appbox is working fine on our other website with classic editor but not on this website with Gutenberg block editor, getting the above error.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
My blog is under maintenance mode. And I’ve added the Social comments Facebook box plugin in all my blog posts.
When I post a test comment, the comment is posted correctly. However. when I go to the Facebook Moderators Tool, the comments are not shown there. And when I run the Facebook Debugger Tool it says that the fb:app_id is missing!
I’ve already created an APP ID and added to the App ID setting inside the plugin but it doesn’t do anything. I am trying to solve this for days and no luck.
Any idea why I can’t see the comments posted in my blog under the Facebook Moderators Tool? I know it’s a Facebook tool matter but since the App ID has been created, I don’t see why the comments do not show up.
Thank you.
Is there any way to connect multiple App ID & App secret to my wordpress site.
I use a lot of hashtag feeds. So i need to connect multiple business accounts. (limit 30 hashtags per week)
I’m able to connect one business account with a working app ID & app secret.
I’m using Instagram Feed Pro pluging to display the hashtags.
With this plugin I can connect multiple business accounts, but I can only provide one App ID & app secret to it.
Is there any workaround?
Kind regards
Alain Cheng
1 – Under what scenarios do you need to enter a Facebook App ID in the settings under ‘Social’?
We use the Facebook sharing feature in Yoast to share posts from our WordPress site to our Facebook page. Currently, we don’t need to add a Facebook App ID to use this feature.
2 – Will the Facebook post sharing feature continue to work without a Facebook App ID after October 24th when Facebook drops support for oEmbed?
It appears that when trying to share the results of my quiz to Facebook it is picking up an invalid Facebook App ID which is coming from somewhere within Jetpack. I am unable to trace where this APP ID is coming from, can anyone assist?
Many Thanks

Thank you.
I created a facebook app, which I have already verified IT IS ONLINE/PUBLISHED (not in development mode). Also I checked https://graph.facebook.com/<APP_ID> and my ID IS VALID.
I’m trying to add my Facebook APP ID to Yoast in the Social/ FB section. And it keeps telling me that it doesn’t exist.
I know It’s not an obligation to set up the ID in Yoast but it seems to be the only way to get the image previews fixed.
Thanks for the help
When attempting to add the Facebook App ID, I receive the following error message:
The Facebook App ID you entered doesn’t exist.
The App ID I entered does indeed exist, and it is active/Live. My problem seems similar to the one mentioned here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/yoast-claims-my-fb-app-id-invalid/
Any advice to help troubleshoot this would be appreciated.
