1. Visitor of my website can complete a readiness assessment which is a series of questions where they are evaluating their readiness to do a certain task.
2. The assessment can be rendered directly inside of a WordPress page or externally to the site.
3. Once the visitor completes the assessment, they provide the email and will receive an email with a personalized copy of their results.
4. The plugin needs to tally the results of their results and provide customized feedback (which will be preset based on score levels) for each visitor taking the readiness assessment.
Thanks in advance
]]>Bear in mind that each question needs to be editable in the CMS. At the end of this quiz, the points from each question are added up and you can fall into one of 4 results.
So far I’m thinking:
How would you implement this?
]]>I can’t change the assessment / Course result – “Evaluate via lessons” -> “Evaluate via result of quizzes”
Does anyone else have the same problem or a fix for it? When I try to update the course page after changing assessment it just jumps back to “Evaluate via lessons”.
Thanks in advance,

Continuing on from part One –
Re Notifications Tab
(points 7 to 12 below)
7) The text boxes (without having used them) have no indication of the number of available character spaces left, (or how many too much there are),
or if the user wants to make a longer message (checkbox to choose).
8) Each Notification allows for only one version of a message.
This means that if the user wants to have a range of messages for each notification, they have to handle them externally to the plugin, and bring the text in by ‘cut and paste’.
a) It would be handy to allow multiple versions of each notification to be used.
b) It would be handy to allow creation of templates.
c) It would be handy if these could be saved exported and imported, so they can be shared with other users. They could also be sent to the plugin site, to be shared with other users, and maybe used as some default templates.
9) The delineation of each notification type is not as obvious as it could be.
a) Better methods to show titles (as described in Part One).
b) The line to the right of titles, could be used as a full width separator between notification types.
c) Possibly consider having each notification type in a separate sub-tab, under the notifications tab.
d) Possibly have the ability to show two notifications side by side, for easy comparison, and cut and paste.
e) Message duplication function
10) The variables
such as Post title: %post_title%, Post content: %post_content%, Post url: %post_url%, Post date: %post_date%
a) It would be handy to have these displayed as buttons, so that clicking on them would insert the variable in to the text for the txt message.
b) If they were to be placed at the top of the text area, then they would give the appearance of being a “Txt Editor” (just a little bit cool).
c) Additional variables could be made available to the user.
These would help achieve the same function as found on a phone.
e.g. select your greeting (possibly in the recipient’s language), standard phrases
d) insert link to web page, stored image or media (covered in another submission). This feature could have the appearance as similar link inserters, and media inserters.
show a thumbnail of the website or picture, during the selection process.
So the user can see what the recipient “will end up seeing”.
A truly “WYSIWTG” editor. (what you see is, what They get)
11) Published New Posts
This looks like it will automatically send a message out every time there is a new post.
a) it would be handy to be able to select which posts, are the topic of a txt message. This means that txts are not automatically sent when there is a new posting. But all new postings can be txtd, at a later time, when they have been selected.
the recent postings could be supplied as a drop down list with the editor.
b) or if more than one message can be reason to send a txt, then there could be more than one drop down list of posts, each of which selects a different post, any one of which will cause a txt to be sent, but only one text is sent to each recipient.
c) “New comment” would be better placed above “Register a new user”, so two article related notifications are near each other, and two user related notifications are near each other.
12) expandability by sub-plugin
There could well be other forms of notification that admin would like to receive. Technically proficient users could create snippets of code to do this, and these snippets could be sent back to the plugin team for incorporation into the plugin once they prove reliable and popular.
So it would be handy to have a “Custom Notification” creator.
Re Integration tab
(points 13 to 15 below)
13) WooCommerce
a) New Order – sends a message to “you”
Who is the “you” – this could be the web site admin, the business manager, the sales team? It is not clear who it is, or even if it is the best person/department in an organisation.
Perhaps the recipient info for this may need to be set in a User Management section.
b) Other messages might be handy, such as “A customer has made an enquiry (using the form), and has chosen to also have you notified (by txt), because of urgency (e.g. they are in town for a short while, and want to book a meeting)”.
So message is triggered by an option box in a form (like Contact Form 7).
or
Click here to send a text, and include (list of “text” options for purpose of txt) in the message and we txt back to you to initiate a phone call or let know we have emailed you back. Basically act as a queue confirmation system.
14) Invite plugin authors of form plugins and membership lists, to allow integration with this plugin.
15) WooCommerce txt “sent to recipients list”, when new products are added to a selected category. Possibly also allow different messages for each category.
16) Also
a) Sent Box
b) Drafts Box
c) Save messages in as sent state, for proper record keeping purposes.
d) Save message as template
I will soon begin to work towards making this plugin run.
Thank you for creating this plugin.
]]>I downloaded the Master.Zip from https://github.com/veronalabs/wp-sms/archive/master.zip
I uninstalled the previous version, then “added new” this beta version.
The process went well.
I had a look at the plugin.
I have not entered particulars for our SMS service yet.
I have some comments which I will list below;
1) The tabbed layout is sensible, and tidy
2) After installing and activating a plugin, some users like to have a look around the plugin to get familiar with it, before they start adjusting it and using it.
When I went to the “Send SMS” page (from left side menu, I saw nothing.
This page is blank, presumably because it has no details on the sender entered yet.
The “subscribers group” behaves in a similar way.
The “outbox” and “subscribers” pages are okay.
The ProPackage Page is a good example of how pages and features can be shown, even though they are not usable (excellent for the up-sell).
Suggestion;
Just as the page would show all the options and fields, before a recipient is known, so could it also show everything, before the sender and sms account details are known.
It won’t be able to send, but it would be able to show what the page looks like.
3) In Settings => General
these two fields look like they both apply to the admin of the website.
The way it appears at present, might be taken to refer to the details for account for the sms service.
a) If these fields are for the website admin, then it would be prudent to include mention of this in the title in the tab.
e.g. “Mobile” changed to “SMS contact details for website admin”
b) If these fields are for the website admin, then consider having a checkbox, so this feature can be turned on/off.
c) If these fields are for the website admin, then consider having a number to divert to if the first admin is away, or two people are to be notified at the same time.
d) The country code, might need some explanation as to how that information will be used.
Some people might prefer to put their numbers in as fully needed,
while others may want to have the plugin apply corrections.
It would be handy to have an explanation, and a checkbox for the user to choose which way they want to do this.
4) The fields have short explanations on their right hand side.
a) More verbose explanations with considerations, might also be useful presented as pop-up text boxes when the field is ‘hovered over’.
b) They presently display a hand cursor when hovered over, which usually indicates a link that will display when the user clicks on it.
But clicking on it takes the cursor to the field ready for data entry.
Perhaps use a different icon.
Or clicking on the text, could be used to go to the plugin sites own up to date help file about that field.
5) Our (SMS) Gateway is not on the list.
Some people might think that since their SMS Service is not on the list, then this plugin will be of no use to them.
The answer to this might be, “If they got to know the plugin a bit more, then they might figure out how to get working”.
That might be an answer, but it is probably not what “they” are “thinking”.
They are probably going to think “Hey. I just installed this, thinking it would work with me, and now I find it does not appear to, and there’s no information to get it working – I,m out of here.”
So having a bit of information to guide them through the process, if their supplier is not on the list would help keep this plugin in front of users.
a) On the list of Gateways, consider having an option for “Custom Gateway Settings” or “Other Gateway”
b) The “Gateway Description” looks like it has a text field missing to it’s right, until a user figures “well maybe its a title”, or “yeh but it looks just like the field names”. So it is a good idea to make the title look a little more important, or of similar importance but for a different purpose.
e.g. capital letter for beginning of second word, inset from left side, line to the right similar to “Gateway Information” but shorter, color, capital letters for all.
c) Sender Number or ID – I am not sure if all sms services are the same, but for our service, if we use ID then our messages are not able to be replied to.
This is very very important to know, especially if the user is wanting responses. They can chew through a lot of money on their first lesson, only to find out that things were destined to fail from the start (even though they had a nice professional looking Sender ID).
So this is one place, at least, where a “warning – Read This” sentence, or popup box help would save some problems.
6) settings => Features
the “mobile field”
a) This is not descriptive enough as it could be, being a title.
consider using something like “user profile and registration forms”, or “User Management”
It seems that this is management for whether and how registered users’ mobile numbers are to be used for txting.
b) as a setting, with a label “Add Mobile number field” ,the user needs to know – “add to what?”. This means the user will have to read the message on the right hand side, which has a high amount of repetition just to find the missing info.
So, it might be better to label it as “Add Mobile number to each user profile and register form” so it is self explanatory.
A better more verbose explanation could be added on the right.
c) This also overlaps with General settings, which seems to be similar but is particularly for the admin.
If these are in fact similar, then it might be better to have a “User Management” section that has settings for the site admins, and users.
But also …
this could be expanded to include other statuses of users, customised users, and other registered membership plugins.
d) the “REST API” with line to the right, is clearly a title. a good example of a title.
I’ll talk about more in Part Two
]]>Thanks,
Joost
Thank you:)
]]>Looks like students are not registered for my courses when manually assigned. Using Membership 2 with this. Is it only working when students actively start a course with a code? I want to keep it as simple as possible: login (works) and start learning (enroll is then very simple). But in the assignments menu list ‘0 students are enrolled’.
Any suggestions?
