We have had membership software in the past that was much more expensive and didn’t integrate with WordPress. We use just about every part of the plugin including the event calendar feature, membership database, directory, forms and shopping cart. The MailChimp integration allows us to use our favorite email marketing platform (that many of our volunteers are familiar with already) for our communications with members and prospects. Given our annual turnover of the board that runs our association, the training and support MembershipWorks provides is so helpful in transitioning from one board term to the next.

Hi,

I get this issue :

The admin edit a post (article) but he has no access to previously checked boxes which defines the association of the post to UAM-groups.

He can define new associations.

Fact : The checkbox are disabled as if admin had limited rights…

This is truly a bug (probably indirect limitation induced by category groups).

wpmvc: how to populate belongs_to_dropdown?

Hi,

i’m reading into the WPMVC-plugin.

i managed to generate some stuff for my plugin and now im trying to create forms.

i have Towns and Countries, a Town belongs to a Country.
So i want to place a dropdown for this, but i can’t figure out how.
In the example-plugin there is something like this:

form->belongs_to_dropdown('Country', $countries, array('style' => 'width: 200px;', 'empty' => true)); ?>

i guess $countries has to be an array, but i can’t figure out where the array gets its values.
can someone hint me to the point and method to populate $countries?

Association Membership management

Hello all,

I’m studying possibilities to implement a new site using wordpress featuring association management.
The goal is to have a multi-site installation that could offer special features for active members of the association, and there are several types of association – all will have the same permissions, but have different annual dues.

I have already checked some of the plugins that are available but I wanted to have your advice on which options do you believe are the best?

One of the options I have is to use a CRM software to manage the association membership, but then I will need some kind of connection with WordPress to automatically update users on WordPress and grant the right permissions accordingly. Is there anything at all that can allow such use?

1.0.1 Not associating cpt & tax and archive pages not working

Since I’ve updated the plugin to version 1.0 and 1.0.1, I can’t associate the post types with the taxonomies (the association is not saved). In addition, archive pages of custom posts is also not working.

Where can I download the previous version to use it until this error is fixed?

Custom Field: Relation?

It would be nice if a new custom field type was added, called “relation” or something similar. It would be used for associating one post with another. It should let you pick the post type and possibly filter the available options. In the editor, it would display as a select.

Example: Custom post type “Dogs” with custom fields group “Pedigree.” Add a new relation field called “Father.” Choose “Dogs” as the post type it links to. Limit it to dogs with male gender (another custom field). In the editor you could then choose from other male dogs as the father. They should be sorted alphabetically.

Need a Plug-in that will locate member based on Specialty

I am proposing to re-do a website in WordPress for a small association. The other players want to re-build the site in a custom CMS that was designed in house for managing associations. Their big ‘Benefit’ is they can do a member locator based on a wide variety of fields BEYOND their location….

SO… I am looking for a “Locator” Plug-in that can locate (The closest Member) a member by:

Member Status
Zip code
Major City
Major Region (without having to type in 120,000 suburb names)
Specialty (plumbing, electrical, Mold, framing, etc…)

Each member has in their profile 5 “Locals” that represent areas that they serve. These are typically cities, but could be county names, or other geo-identifiers. AND then 5 Specialties that they are good at.

so a query might be

Looking for Electrical specialist near Modesto Ca…

The results should be sorted by Member status, Match quality, and THEN distance.

And it should be fast… One companies solution took 40 seconds to find 5 out of a 120 member test list…

Cross Reference User Accounts, Places, Events: Where To Start?

I consider myself to have moderate knowledge of wordpress and am comfortable digging around themes, creating child themes and doing some light programming.

My goal is to create a site which can cross reference places, user accounts, and events. For instance I want to be able to say this place has the following events coming up, or this user is associated with this place. Or this user created/is going to this event.

I am not looking for a how to or anything like that, I am just looking for some general guidance to get me started.

My idea is to use WP Google Maps or similar to create a map of places. These places can then be linked to an internal database of places (I was thinking of using custom post types, can anyone verify this is a good direction?)

I would use Timely or similar to create a calendar. That would handle the events.

I am at a loss as how to deal with the user accounts. I was looking at buddypress but honestly I think it is too much. I need simple user account creation and management with a few roles and the ability to associate these as described.

I keep getting an error message. I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled Buddypress Links 3x, thnking the installer is failing to create the requisite page, but the error keeps recurring as follows:

“The following active BuddyPress Components do not have associated WordPress Pages: Links. Repair”

Whn I click the “Repair” button it takes me to Settings, Buddypress, Pages where page associations shows “Links” to be associated with “none”.

I am likewise getting a 404 error when a link is added to “Links”

Any help will be greatly appreciated!
