The biggest of which is the lack of custom Post Types in the list of “Attach to” options when creating a Custom Taxonomy. I was able to get around this by using my browser’s inspector to change the value property of the checkboxes, but that is hardly a good solution.
Second, please sanitize the “Post type” and “Taxonomy” fields using the sanitize_title_with_dashes() function. I ran in to an problem where my incorrect usage of capitalization (“Products” instead of “products”) in a Custom Taxonomy caused another plugin to fail when checking for its existence via the Taxonomy slug it had sanitized.
Third, when the “Post type” or “Taxonomy” fields are changed, please update all existing Posts/Terms appropriately.
Thank you.

]]>Minor query
What is the purpose of the attach option in the media library.
Is it simply a quick way to bring up page where image is.
I’m not sure which version my site uses as a web developer created my site for me. I’m trying to familiarise myself with all it’s functions so I can do all further developments myself.
The site was started Februry this year (2011).I have not upgraged to 3.1.3 yet.
Cheers,

]]>It is very- *very* common- that a user or wordpress wants to add a link in their post- and it’s hard for them to do so. I’ve experienced this with various clients.
I installed a hack to turn apparent urls to a tags, and thus show a link.
Great.
But the real solution is something like allowing to attach links to posts. Just as you do for media.
Before I go off and start hacking away- Is there something like this in the plugins section? I can’t find it at all.
Please forgive me if I am posting this to the wrong place. This is my first post, please feel free to reprimand.
]]>The older post pictures show which post they are attached to but the newer posts dont show anymore.
Pictures/posts April 2009 and below are working normally.
Pictures/posts May 2009 onwards no longer show where they are attached to.
Any idea? It looks like it stopped working when I upgraded I think. I’m not really sure.
]]>When adding his pictures to his posts, he didn’t know what to do for a link url because he didn’t understand “Enter a link URL or click above for presets.” So he left it blank.
Now, though, when you go to the media library page and look at the images, they are all showing up as attached to the first blog post containing a picture.
I opened the media library, by clicking on it above the editor and saw that these links were all garbled but indeed all began with that post link.
I attempted to correct the links by showing each picture and fixing them, then saving changes but the changes were not saved.
So I clicked on the picture in each post and clicked on the current link button. This had no effect on the Attached to field in the gallery listing.
I went to the mysql database to try to see where these attachments were coming from but I all I could see this listing.
Whenever you click on a picture in the gallery, instead of taking you to the post that is about that picture, it displays the picture with a link back to the first post.
In order to fix this I had to delete that post so that the images were showing attached to nothing and then go back and delete and re-enter the image in each post.
There has to be an easier way!!
