Awesome theme for authors

This is by far the best theme I’ve tried out for myself. It’s easy to use and the support I received when I had a minor problem was terrific. I’m going to keep this one.

The theme has many options without being complicated and the design is quite clean and to the point.

(There are, at this time, two 1-star reviews saying the 5-star reviews are fake, they are not. It’s worth all the 5 stars it can get.)

Date Not Showing up On Blog (Author Theme)

I’m using the Author Theme on Elementor, but it appears none of the dates on my blog posts appear. It just says “by Brian Price published on” and then a blank space where the date is. How can I fix this?

Number of Blog Posts

No matter what I do, I cannot limit the number of blog posts on my site using Author Theme.

I used both Settings/Reading and Customizer to limit the blog posts to 10 on the blog page.

I have it set up (and saved) as a static page in Homepage settings with my ‘About’ page being the homepage and ‘Blog’ as the posts page.

My site is hosted by Siteground and I purged the SG cache and refreshed the page after each attempt to fix this.

I’d be grateful for any suggestions.

Broken site after activating Author from Customize sidebar

I was using Dark Coral up to this point at https://perfidy.press/. After previewing the Author Theme using the Customize sidebar, and having made some minor changes, I clicked Activate. After a minute I was told:

The page isn’t redirecting properly
An error occurred during a connection to perfidy.press.
This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

The page in the address bar was https://perfidy.press/wp-admin/themes.php?page=author-options&author_status=activated

After that, every page on the site as well as admin pages unsuccessfully tried to redirect to that URL. I am at a loss as how to resurrect the site. I can fiddle with it over FTP, but have no clear idea what to look for or what to do that would not break the site in other ways.

I used this theme for a client who is a beginner author and needed something not too complicated to use, but still elegant and with some real options to style it. This theme delivers with 4 different page templates which cover most uses for many creative and small businesses (both blog-focused sites, sites with a few products or services or pure “calling card websites”). What I liked especially were the options to show quotes from the page or post with a bit of styling, either a default option or pulled from the excerpt. I see so many free themes which are either bare bones or cramped with all sorts of useless options that are only 50 per cent usable anyway, because the theme is intended as an advert for a premium version. It was therefore very helpful and encouraging to find this gem and I can recommend it for sure – especially for the abovementioned user groups. Check it out!

I am running the Author theme and when I set up the widget to run in the sidebar this message comes up on my blog. The widget seems to run fine, the book cover is there, the bar is there, the link even works fine. It just has that text string before.
