So whats been happening is I will go to my “Profile page,” scroll down to “Account Management,” click on “Set New Password,” I will then type in the new password I want, then I will click on “Set New Password” again. The problem is, when I click “Set New Password,” the site will replace the password I just entered with a random autogenerated password.
Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
I am using WP User Control Widget. Could this be the problem?
]]>I enabled Anyone Can Register under General Settings. When you register, is requires you to enter your desired username and then your email address. Within seconds you receive an email with your auto-generated password. But this email also directs you to a specific url, for example: https://myinsurancenews.info/wp-login.php
I want it to just say: https://myinsurancenews.info because if the new user goes where it tells them now, they sign in and go to a dashboard and will most likely get confused.
The other option is after sign in to direct the user to the Main Page or Forum Page instead of going to the backend profile section and disabling the see/edit profile option – which I also do not know how to do.
I am only using the registration for a forum called Guest Blogs which I put in this morning. I set the level at Author.
If needed I can take snap shots of my dashboard options. I have gone through every thing that I can think of under settings, appearance, users, etc.
Thank you in advance.
]]>I was wondering if anybody had know-how or feedback about how to go about the following.
Need to create a site that has users (simple), those users have an option to purchase a auto-generated password that gives them access to the video that they purchased on a page within the site. Been looking around at different plugins, and blog articles, but just wanted to see if anybody had any other insite or suggestions.
The clients main concern is they don’t want passwords to be passed around like wildfire so I’m thinking that the user and password for the video all have to match in order to gain access.
Thanks
