I need to use Worldpay US For WooCommerce 1.0.4 for my site V1.0.5 has issues per the developer mr.clayton from paymentplugins.com.

The develop installed 1.0.4 so I can test the site, however; 1.0.4 automatically, upgrades to v1.0.5? He said the software is not designed to automatically upgrade to a newer version.

Has anyone had this issue of plugin’s automatically upgrading to a newer version? Is this a WordPress bug issue. I just had to manually upgrade 3 plugins.

In settings, I have plugins marked yes? Does that mean automatic upgrades for all plugins?

problem with all auto upgrades

I get this message when trying “automatic” upgrades:
Could not create directory. /www.arnoldgenealogy.com/htdocs/wp-content/upgrade/.tmp

This inability to create the necessary directories occours on all automatic upgrade attempts-no matter if its a plugin or new wordpress version. What could cause this?

Automatic Upgrades on Godaddy VDS – Failed to connect to FTP Server

Every time I put in my credentials for FTP in the automatic upgrade section of wordpress for plugins (at this link: …/wp-admin/update-core.php?action=do-plugin-upgrade), I get the following message:

Failed to connect to FTP Server

I know my credentials are correct because I just tried the same ones in an FTP program. Anyone run into this problem? The website is hosted on a Godaddy virtual dedicated server, so that might provide a clue. Thanks.

Automatic plugin/theme install not working – tried everything!

Howdy. Been trying like the dickens to get automatic plugin/theme upgrades and installs to work on my WordPress 3.0.1 setup. Each time I initiate the FTP upgrade through wp-admin, I get the following…

Unpacking the package…

Installing the theme…

Could not create directory. /www/mysite/wp-content/themes/the-erudite/

Theme install failed.

For testing, I’ve set everything to 777 permissions. I can create and delete directories all I want through my FTP client. I also tried setting up a brand new WP install on the same server, and got the same error message. I’ve tried deleted and re-adding the plugins folder and deleting and re-adding the upgrades folder. I even tested php’s mkdir() with a dummy page and it created a directory just fine.

The only thing I can think of is that there’s something weird in that I’m running on a Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard server, but WordPress runs great other than this. It’s not a major problem but it is incredibly annoying and I’d be quite grateful for any and all assistance.

Upgrading from 2.7 rc1, to 2.7 – Host Name?

I’m trying to use the automatic upgrade feature to upgrade from 2.7 rc1 to the official wp 2.7, but I’m not sure what to put in the “hostname” field – my url? “localhost?” I feel like an idiot but I really am not sure what it wants.

Any web host does automatic upgrades?

I signed up with a web host and installed WordPress using Fantastico. But Fantastico installs an out-of-date version of WordPress. Worse, when I tried to add RSS feeds, one of the feeds didn’t work but showed my username and directory instead! And my web host won’t help me upgrade. I will have to do it myself. But I have no technical skills. Is there any web host that does automatic upgrades? Does Dreamhost or Living Dot do automatic upgrades? I read about the WordPress plug-in that does automatic upgrades but I don’t want to take chances because if it doesn’t work, I will have to reinstall WordPress myself.
