Backing up local wp website

Hello,

I am creating a number of www.ads-software.com websites locally using Xampp (and creating a back end database with php myadmin).

I am wanting to create wordpress websites for clients professionally. Is it wise to create regular back-ups of local wordpress websites to save creations over time? If so, what is the process of backing a locally hosted website to save creations of a website in case it gets lost? Would it be saved as a zip file? What is the process of then restoring a saved local wordpress website? Have searched everywhere for this but cant find any step by step process. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks!

I backed up my site before upgrading the theme. However, once updated an entire section and its content has been lost.

Is there a way I can recover this piece of content without uploading the complete backup?

Back up folders empty

I created a backup of my website yesterday and it contained 12 ‘uploads’ folders. I downloaded these to my computer and I can’t open the zipped files because it says they’re invalid and empty yet they all have a fairly large file size. What is going on? Previous backups have the same number of folders but these have items in.

Local files not found, can upload backup but where to override?

Hi. My site has been hacked (see menu items on https://veldhovensondernemerscontact.nl/). I want to restore an old backup. However, it’s not working. There are 2 backups found within the plugin, but I get an error all the time. Now, I tried to upload a backup. The upload is successful. However, where can I chose to use this particular backup and override the site?
