opacity in var color on background

Hey,

is it possible if I have a global color, for example: #1a1724 and as var:
var( –e-global-color-secondary ), to get opacity on this? So I though I can write the opacity directly in the var like:
background-color: var( –e-global-color-secondary ), .8;
This does not work. Is there a way to do this? At the moment I am doing it with the hex code #1a1724CC, but every time I change the secondary global color, I have to change the CSS aswell. Do you have a solution for this?

Background Opacity will only allow one "valid" value.

When I try to change Background Opacity from the standard 0.85 it will not allow me to manually enter a different number, I have to use the arrow which only increas or decreas by 1.

so my options are -0,15, 0,85 or 1,85 (also higher or lower). This is probably only the html verification but it inhibits my ability to change the background value.

Hi there!

I just updated Gommero and WordPress to the latest versions and I can no longer set the opacity of the background color. The website I’m working on is www.celebconn.com. This is what I had (and still have) in my Custom CSS:

body {
font: 14px/1.5 ‘Trebuchet MS’, sans-serif;
background:rgba(200,127,78,0.8) url(‘images/541.jpg’);
color:#000000;
background-attachment:fixed;
}

It appears that after the updates, I can set the background color in the Custom Background area, but how can I adjust the opacity without creating a gif image? Thanks!

My posts and info are getting a little lost in my background. I have an overlay over a picture, I just need to change the opacity % on either the background photo or overlay.

Changing opacity only on background of a div

Hi,
how can I change the opacity on the background of a div, but not the entire div’s content?
I want a black background with an opacity of 60% but the content within it should be 100%. I can’t use background-opacity but is there another option?
Since older versions of Explorer can’t display png’s that is not a possibility.
