How do you set up a child-theme to load css properly with Llorix One Lite? I have set up my child-theme to load style.css, and that functions well, but it appears that bootstrap.min.css is overriding the style.css stylesheet. Is there a way to change the order of preferences of which stylesheet has preference in child theme?

I am building a custom theme with French and English. I have installed the Polylang plugin and have both languages working. I have a button on the top of the index (home) page. The page will load in English but have a French button.

My question is how can I have different index pages depending on French or English?

Bi-Lingual Website – Best Practices?

Hi guys,

I am considering setting up my personal profile/portfolio page and since I have international clients, it should be bi-lingual.

What would be the best way to implement this? A friend of mine told me to set up a WordPress multisite installation with sub-domains or sub-directories. Is that something that you would also see here?

Duplicate Post does not work with WPML for multilingual site

but has no recent updates so I’ll bring it up again. (plus that it was discussed under a heading that had nothing to do with WPML)

It seems Duplicate Post does not function well with the multilingual WP tool WPML.

I have a blog/site with two languages: English as primary and Swedish as secondary language.

All seems to work fine for English (the primary language).

But in the secondary language the following happens:

If I create a duplicate of a post in Swedish (the secondary language) it makes a duplicate but as soon as the post is saved the post language is switched to English (the primary language).

This has some (grave) consequences but essentially means that Duplicate Post can’t be used with WPML:
– the metadata info is lost or screwed up (tags & categories)
– the link between posts in different languages is lost (primary post & translated post)

Since I’d much like to use this plugin I’m hoping for an update that works nicely with WPML.

Bi-lingual Site

I have been told that I need to have a English and a Welsh version of a site I am working on. It will need a splash page where the visitor selects their language and then directed to a Welsh or English version.
Any suggestions, do I need two installs and what about the splash page which will obviously be styles different from the rest of the site without menus or posts.

[Plugin: Special Recent Posts] Using SRP on mulitlingual site

My site is multilingual (English & Swedish) and the language capability is handled by WPML and Widget Logic.

If I install Special Recent Post it shows both English and Swedish recent posts in the same widget. From a user perspective this does not make sense. (The “standard” recent post widget is capable of separating posts in the two languages, so that only English recent posts are show on English pages, etc.)

To be able to use SRP on a multilingual site SRP needs to be able to select only recent posts in the correct language for a specific page.

Is this possible?

Right now my website is bi-lingual, using PHP. Depending on your OS-/browser-settings an english or german version is displayed. Now I want to rebuild it using WordPress. I chose “Constellation” as theme and qTranslate for posts. The bilingual posting works fine. But how do I best approach the translation of all the other elements? I guess, with WordPress being PHP-based, I can’t just glue on the PHP I use now? Is there another plugin for this?
