Blog Directory Redirects to Root Directory

Hi,

Thanks in advance for any help with this!

I have 2 WordPress installs (blog and main), which means I have 3 htaccess files (blog, main, public).

Problem:

https://site/blog/post
redirects wrong to:
https://site/post

I’ve tried all three methods to get it to redirect correctly:
1. WordPress 301 redirection to SSL
2. 301 .htaccess redirect
3. Javascript redirection to SSL

This is a serious problem because it ruins all of my backlinks. Look forward to any advice! Thanks!

Hi,
I am new to WordPress. I used to work with blogger.com. After a lot of thinking and research, I step into WordPress and in starting stage I face a weird problem I gave a clear description below:

domain.com -> working
domian.com/blog -> not working
domain.com/blog/first-post/7 -> Working
domain.com/blog/category -> not working
domain.com/blog/category/get-started/ -> working
Because of this, I can’t navigate my visitor from static page to Blog posts page. I hope you understood my problem. Please help me to fix it.

How do you create an easy to navigate list of blogs?
Older posts are impossible to find for users unless you know a key word and search for that key word.

I have put posts into a category is there a directory type option that can be visible to visitors to the page?

Hello ,

I have my own web site : wwww.divinewealthcreation.in and my Web Host is www.000webhost.com.

This web site is created specifically for WP ” BLOG ”

As I understand , If at all WordPress Blog is to be hosted , it shall be in the directory ” BLOG ” e.g. www.divinewealthcreation.in / blog

However, in my members area of my Host : www.000webhost.com, it is stated that I shall host my web site in their “public_html” directory , ( not knowing that this is for WP Blog) … Accordingly, I hosted my two files ,1) wordpress-3.6.zip and 2) PFIsoftware.zip ( WordPress plugin ) in my host’s “public_html” directory . However, after visiting my web site, it gives message as : “Index pf ……..

Considering this ERROR, how can restore it to its original position ?

How can I create “blog ” directory, in my web site by using “fantastico”, to install WordPress blog ? Do I have to skip “public_html” directory as required by my host ?

Do I have to upload “index.html” also in “public_html” directory ?

Please clarify all these issues .

Creating sub-dir blogs under one parent dir

Hello,

i’ve just made a fresh install of wpmu with the sub-dir setup. i really want to create all sub-blogs in a main folder, to achieve something like this:

– mydomain.com/blogs/blog1
– mydomain.com/blogs/blog2
…etc where mydomain.com is the multisite install.

can you give me a hint on how to achieve it?

Mapping domain to blog directory

I have the blog on my site set to a page called blog, with posts served to url strudture of “site.com/blog/post-names” I’m able to map my new domain to the blog page, but how can map all existing and future posts to show the new domain as root?

I made a stupid mistake:
In the settings of a single install, I changed blog URL to root directory, when it is really installed in domain/blog/

I can’t log in to the admin panel. So how do I fix the mistake?

Adding a WP blog to a WP Commercial Site

Greetings. Total newb here, and I apologize if this is a duplicate subject, but I couldn’t find the exact issue.

I recently started a commercial site using WP on an independent server, and I wanted to start an associated blog. Unfortunately, I have no idea if I can do this from the same Dashboard or if I have to create a “blog.(myurl).com” entry somewhere and attach it.

If I simply start adding posts, will my landing page, the commercial entry, remain the same? I can add a link on any number of pages to the blog area. I just don’t want the blog entries to supercede my index page.

If I have to create a separate directory for the blog.~ entry, how the heck do I do that?

Hi! I am a newbie.

I seek help for the WP site that I am currently developing.

I just want a simple one that has these:
1. A registration page, where my users are required to enter their blog URL.
2. My homepage showing the most recent blogposts linked to the member’s blog site.
3. a page that has the top blog rankings.

I would need simple widgets to:
1. each member can vote each other’s blog post
and
2. each member can follow each other’s blogs.

I have been trying to figure this out in the past two weeks, but I would always have to start from scratch.

Can I publish Pages in Root Directory and Blog Posts in Another?

Folks:

I have an issue that I originally thought would be quite simple to deal with, but is quickly becoming a headache.

I’m using WordPress as the CMS for a new site. I would like my WordPress site and ‘Pages’ to load in the root directory while the Blog index and subsequent ‘Posts’ reside in another.

To clarify…

Desired URL structure:
homepage – domain.com
products – domain.com/products
??? products > hats – domain.com/products/hats
??? products > shirts – domain.com/products/shirts
blog – domain.com/blog
??? blog > first post – domain.com/blog/first-post

Current URL structure:
homepage – domain.com
products – domain.com/products
??? products > hats – domain.com/products/hats
??? products > shirts – domain.com/products/shirts
blog – domain.com
??? blog > first post – domain.com/first-post

Within the admin settings, I’ve already set my WordPress address to domain.com/blog and my Website address to domain.com, but this obviously has no effect on the permalinks/URL structure of the ‘Pages’ and ‘Posts’.

My wishful thinking was that the ‘pages of the site’ would publish to domain.com/postname and the ‘wordpress blog posts’ would publish to domain.com/blog/postname. This is still the goal.

I have to believe that there is some type of hardcoding hack or override I can implement (possibly in .hataccess file?) that can accomplish this.

Any help or insight is greatly appreciated.
