I need to move this blog to a new server & new URL (https://example.com/blog on server 1 to https://blog.example.com on server 2). Directory structure will also be different.
I tried moving the code, database, and editing conf & .htaccess files by hand with no good results. Would you have a recommended course of action here for the BPS plugin?
Also, looking at the version, I can see it’s woefully out of date. Any benefit to upgrading before the move vs. after the move?
Thanks!

]]>My client had an old site–non WordPress, but the blog was WordPress.
I built him a new WordPress site, with a new theme, at a new web host. I downloaded the datatbase, and backed up the old site.
But I can’t figure out how to upload the old blog entries. There’s a folder marked blog in the backup files.
Do I upload this somewhere by FTP?
Help!
]]>I realized after the post import, though, that the images were not in the Media Library. So this plugin looks to be the answer to solve that.
Question: If there were many Featured Images set on posts, if I now use Ad From Server to get the images into the media library on the new server will the association between posts and Featured Images be restored? Or is that lost?

]]>After researching the forums I found https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL which looks like it may fix the issue. Before going through the process outlined there, does anyone have feedback on whether or not this is the correct process to fix the problem?
Thanks in advance
]]>I need to move www.blog.com to www.site.com/blog.
I would like to make sure that the PR and all links are kept intact and I want to know the best way of doing this.
Last time I did this I followed some good guides from blogs like Joost de Valk and My Digital Life – and I STILL lost all my backlinks and PR even after implementing an .htaccess 301 redirect.
If someone could please clarify the process of moving a blog with the goal of maintaining the PR and backlinks then that would be the best Christmas present ever.
Thank you <
]]>Prior to the move my blog was in a directory structure like this: https://mysitename.com/blog (sub-directory)
I changed the domain name and moved the blog to a new hosting account with the directory structure now https://mysitename.com (root directory)
I got everything to work except that none of the old images in each post are showing. I checked a single post and the image path was shown as: /blog/wp-content/uploads/cc/imagename.jpg
When I changed the single post to: /wp-content/uploads/cc/imagename.jpg the image now shows.
I realize of course that I moved the blog from a sub directory structure to a root directory structure. What I am trying to find out is where can I go to make an all encompassing change that will point all prior posts to the the new structure (/wp-content/uploads/cc/imagename.jpg vs /blog/wp-content/uploads/cc/imagename.jpg) as opposed to having to go through each and every post to change it.
I already tried going to the Settings/Miscellaneous and putting wp-content/uploads as the path to store images but I realize this is only going to affect new posts and not make a change to the old posts.
Is there a .php file I can change or something in the MYSQL structure to make this change so it is all encompassing for the old posts?
