I saw that Prettylinks seems to include a really old browsecap file. What is the correct way to update this?
There are three different versions on https://browscap.org – it seems the big ones would be rather slow on a loaded site. What implication would there be to switch to the “lite” version?.
Thanks

and many other files (suppose you know what they are)
I’ve uninstalled plugin to see if that will tell google.bot not to crawl this folders. It didn’t work. Google still trying to crawl them. What could I do to stop that crawling? Google notifies me on many errors, which are pretty bad for SEO.

We just upgrade our wordpress site, and when upgrading to the latest version og WPS, we got an error 500 because of this plugin.
From the error log I found this error:

removal of the plugin fixed it, but re-installing created the same error.
I use PHP version: 5.6.18

Deactivation of “browscap.ini” removes the above message.
In backend when I choose to manually download browscap.ini, the following message is displayed on bottom of page:

If permissions need to be changed: Which folder(s) and/or file(s) needs to be changed to what CHMOD value?

Error downloading browscap database from: https://browscap.org/stream?q=Full_PHP_BrowsCapINI – Forbidden
The rights on the folders are correct, when I check the WP-Statistics -> Optimization page I see this;
browscap.ini File: browscap.ini file does not exist.
The file size and date of the browscap.ini file.
Cache File:
browscap cache file does not exist.
The file size and date of the browscap cache file.
In the WP-Statistic settings -> Externals page the browscap marks are all on.
What does this mean and how can I resolve it?

Yesterday i updated one of my websites from php5.4 to php7 because browscap need php 5.5 or later to work.
When i click to install browcap i get the following message.
“There was an error downloading the Browscap data file from our server. Please try again later.”
I have other websites that run php7 and not having this problem.
I hope that it is possible to solve this problem.
Best Andreas
