Edit page blocked by message windows

When I go to the Edit page of my form, it’s partly being blocked by message windows from Contactform7 so I can’t go to the other tabs to make changes. I can’t cancel/dismiss these windows. I work on a Mac (in Safari). This has never been an issue before either.
One of them is: Do you need help? The other is: Status

Anyone have any idea how to remove them? Thanks!

Installed Font doesn’t show in all Browsers

I use Twenty Twenty-Four. Theme (1.2) and Worpress (6.6.2) are updated.
I did install Noto Sans from Google Fonts.
I changed the theme settings for text, headings etc.
Opera and Edge do show Noto in text and headings.
Firefox, Chrome, Brave don’t show the Noto font but a default sans serif font
– both in Desktop-Version and on mobile phone.
I cleared the browser-cache.
Because I did this the same way like in other WordPress instances of mine I have no clue what to change and would be glad about an idea : )

No pins show in Facebook app browser

For some reason if we use the Facebook app and a link to the store locator no pins show initially or using search. If we click the … menu and force Facebook to open the page in a browser the pins show. So the problem isn’t that the store locator doesn’t work on mobile (it does) it just doesn’t work through Facebook, but that is where we are promoting it. Ideas?

Hi!

I’m hoping you can help me with something I’ve been struggling with for about 2 weeks now.

The website I created looks as it should (wrt the margins + alignment) on my Chrome + Firefox but different on my Edge. It also looks different on the clients Safari + Chrome.
Also the mobile + tablet views are extremely off. It seems as if something is fundamentally wrong with my setup etc. because everything is jumbled and this is the case with all pages.

Distorted Text using Chrome and Safari

This occurs with Safari browser and Chrome, both on a Mac. Firefox ist fine.

What can be done about this?

Delayed server responses when logged in on one browser(any browser!) for a while

This issue sounds kind of ridiculous, but I’ve pinned it down as best I can and ruled out anything obvious.

When I’ve been logged in as admin and working on my site in a browser for a while (“a while” is variable, but maybe half an hour to a few hours), it starts to get extremely slow to load any public or admin page. Using developer tools I can see that the slowdown is caused by huge delays in “waiting for server response” – up to 60s for even small and simple resources. This means a single page can end up taking several minutes to load, and sometimes the browser gives up entirely and times it out.

But these server delays are localised to my current login. I can fix the delay locally by:

Switching to a different browser. (Note: this issue is not specific to a particular browser. If I luse firefox for a while it slows down and switching to chrome speeds back up again. If I use chrome for a while it slows down and switching to firefox speeds back up again.)
Clearing my browser cache and history.
Logging in again in an incognito window.
Switching to a different user account on my device.
Giving up for a while and coming back later (without logging out or anything else in between).

Here’s a recording that shows the homepage taking over two minutes to load in chrome, then immediately switching to a firefox window and loading the same page in a few seconds. (Note again, this issue is not specific to chrome, it is specific to whichever browser I have been logged in on and using). https://streamable.com/qadvcy

Things I’ve ruled out:

The slowdown is not an overall server performance issue. If I do a lighthouse report of the public homepage during a slowdown it gives normal results.
I’ve deactivated all plugins with no change.
I’ve enabled and disabled bluehost’s server-side caching with no change.
The issue has been going on for a few months, across various wordpress and plugin updates, but it’s taken me a while to pin it down.

And an additional factor: I have two separate wordpress installs on the same shared hosting, one as a subdomain of the other. They both display this same issue. And I think (but am not 100% certain yet) that a local slowdown on one usually or always causes a local slowdown on the other.

I just have no idea where to go from here.

It’s not a browser issue because it’s not specific to a particular browser. Except it kind of is a browser issue because it’s specific to whichever browser I’ve been using each time.
It’s not a wordpress installation issue because the same thing happens across multiple installs on the same server. Except it kind of is a wordpress issue because it specifically happens when I am logged in and performing admin actions.
It’s not a server issue because it’s local to my device. Except it kind of is a server issue because the slowdown is specifically caused by delayed server responses.

Can anyone help?

Can’t edit homepage title for browser

On my homepage the title that appears in my tab on Google Chrome is saying the name of a featured blog post rather than the name of my website. Do you know what setting I should go to in order to change this? All of the other pages the titles are showing correctly. There is no option to edit any details of the homepage in my dashboard either as it’s not showing as an individual page which is strange. My website is still not live because of this so I’m unable to share a link.

Not displaying on Chrome

I recently noticed that the smart bar that I am using does not show up on Chrome, while it displays as expected on Firefox and Edge. Is there a known incompatibility? or a setting to adjust?

Suddenly I have started getting this error in Edge and Chrome when I try to add the Parent of a new page in wordpress “Error code: STATUS_BREAKPOINT”
I have tried every fix for the browsers online – no joy
I have also tried reinstating a back up of the site from 3 days ago – before any plugin updates – that did not help either
I am using a custom theme built by someone years ago and WP Version 6.5.4

I can edit the site in Firefox – I have tried reinstalling the browser and How to Fix status_breakpoint Error in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge (helpdeskgeek.com)
