Why does WordPress not have a bulk updater for Media?

I have uploaded a bunch of images to the media library. I have also created categories and sub-categories in the Media Categories facility.

Now I proceed to the Media Library and select 10 images to apply a category and sub categories to and find that the Bulk Select ONLY has a DELETE option?

I don’t want to delete them. I want to simply apply a category to multiple images.

Am I missing something or is WordPress now FORCING me to install a third-party plugin JUST to update the category for multiple images in the library??

All the third party plugins create a SEPARATE taxonomy and the moment I am done applying categories, and remove the plugin, all the taxonomies created with the plugin stop working FORCING me to keep the plugin installed just to use the plugins custom categories.

I don’t want an extra plugin installed just to update my library.

Can someone please tell me what I’m missing so I can stop pulling out my hair?

Bulk product layers/content update using custom php/db script

Hi, thanks for great plugin.

I have a shop where all the products are using the same set of layers and content of these layers (color groups and swatches). Only the pictures are different but these are not in consideration right now.

If I have many products and colors availability may change because of supplier then I would like to be able to change layers and content for many products in bulk.

Is it possible using your plugin or I can make it by myself using php/db script I write by myself or with help of a developer.

The question is – how are layers and content saved in db and are they only in one place or some additional/extra knowledge needed for me to make this script?

Another Problem with WooCommerce Products

After updating this plugin from version 2.7.3 to 2.7.6, I ran into a problem with the bulk edit feature for Woocommerce products.

If I’m on the products page and I want to change multiple products from draft status to published status, I check the box next to the product name, choose “edit” from the pulldown menu, and hit “apply.”

That opens a screen where I can choose “publish” from the pulldown menu and can then click on the “update” button to change the draft products to published products.

…but in version 2.7.6, clicking the “update” button does nothing. I can click it once or a hundred times, but nothing happens.

Reverting to 2.7.3 allows everything to work properly.

With 2.7.6, I can, of course, edit each product individually to change their status from draft to publish, but the bulk edit functions don’t work with that version.

I’ve been using Media Library Assistant for a few months and it worked fabulous.

Today I tried to bulk update some images I’ve just uploaded to the server and registered them with Bulk Media Register (I’ve had do that a lot of times) but it gives me this error:

An ajax.fail error has occurred. Please reload the page and try again. (error), jqXHR( 403, Forbidden, El enlace que has seguido ha caducado.

Por favor, inténtalo de nuevo.)

I really don’t understand what happened since I’ve been doing this a lot of times and worked fine.

Could somebody help me?

How to do bulk update articles in WordPress backend

Hi,

We use Facebook instant articles plugin for our news website. We replaced default post author with custom taxonomy guest author. It was working fine and posting articles with our custom author before we update this plugin.

But, after update, it is taking default users as authors. We changed plugin code, tried updating few articles from WordPress dashboard and it is updating fine on Facebook articles also. But, there are more 700 articles has wrong author name and we cant update it directly from dashboard. is there any other solution to do it in plugin side? or any specific hooks available to call and update only for instant articles?

Please help
