Cannot change website email

Hello, I am having trouble updating my email in Settings–>General. It is currently [email protected] and I would like to change it to the email I have set up for this particular website. However, when I put the new email in, it says that an email has been sent to the new address and I have to confirm it there, but I’m not getting any emails. I’ve looked at the answers to other people asking this question here, but I don’t have a database so I can’t use phpmyadmin. Is there any other way for me to change it?

Cannot Switch PHP Version When Using WP_HTTP_BLOCK_EXTERNAL

Hi there,

For security reasons, we’re using the following commands in our wp-config.php file:

define('WP_HTTP_BLOCK_EXTERNAL', true);

define('WP_ACCESSIBLE_HOSTS', '*.www.ads-software.com, *.siteground.com, *.sgcpanel.com');

The above commands work great for our site with the following exception:

We have to change

define('WP_HTTP_BLOCK_EXTERNAL', true);
to
define('WP_HTTP_BLOCK_EXTERNAL', false);

in order to change our PHP version using the SG Optimizer plugin

Affected Plugin Path:

WP > SG Optimizer > Environment Optimization > Set Your PHP Version > PHP Management Method > Set Manual PHP Version

Question:

What URL or HTTP site is being used by SiteGround to update the PHP version? We’d like to add it to the above list of websites (i.e., URLs). Above URLs do not work.

Cannot change nothing in .htaccess file without server error 500 contact webmast

I tryed changing where gzip is called in .htaccess caus e the planet hosters article sayd to put gzip and the cache headers at the top. Mine starts with wp rocket settings and i can’t put gzip either before at the top or after wp rocket noteven after wordpress or even after double htaccess oath is don at the bottom but it gives an error all the time no matter what you change. I even tryed to erase 2 blank lines between comments that where empty, i didn’t change no data and it served a 500 error just like when htaccess is tamperd with. Now i have a cloudflare firewall and ddos protection, plus css,html and js minification and async going with cloudflare and wp rocket and even have autoptimize for 7 files that the others won’t defer. All those caches including opcache and pagespeed are going.

What is protecting htacess, i managed to change it before no i can’t anymore.

Default theme page not changeable

Hello everyone,

Following problem:

1) Default page /services/ created by theme
2) Page automatically takes content from section in front page
3) Manual changes in Pages > All Pages > /services/ not possible?

How can I free /services/ from the existing content or add content underneath?

Cannot customize

Hello, I changed my layout by mistake from Boxed to Wide and now it does not want to change it back. I select the option “Boxed” and save and publish but it does not change it. Now the site is boxed in some places (blog body) and not all (like heading and bootstrap slider) the background image is gone (though it is selected in the options). Please help. The site looks terrible Thanks!

Cannot save new IP (on Domain Mapping Configuration page)

My server IP address changed. Subsites are now working fine but show the older IPaddress in the interface (in Tools –> Domain Mapping… the help text there identifies the old ip address) which can be confusing for subsite admins.

Tried to modify the IP to the new one from Network Admin dashboard (Settings –> Domain Mapping). I enter the new IP address in the Server IP Address field and click Save but the old IP is stuck and the field does not update.

Any ideas?

Pages will not retain changed Template selection

Hello,

At some point last night– presumably caused by a Calendar or Statcounter plugin– I lost the ability to set templates to pages. I have made several and they have been working for the past few months just fine. Now, if I try to set my static front page to the home template (I’ve tried renaming this to statichome.php, with no success), it reverts to the Default Template, index.php. If I delete index.php from my theme directory, I don’t even have the option to set a template on the page – the drop down box doesn’t show up.

I can see all my templates in the drop down box and can select them. When I hit update, it goes back to the default.

I have searched these forums to no avail.

I do not have the suhosin plugin.

I have attempted disabling all plugins and changing the template.

I have read the codex page on Template Heirarchy.

I must be missing something very obvious here, or else I’ve stumbled across an incredibly aggrivating glitch.

400 Bad Request when trying to update permalinks

First post from a WP newbie:

I have installed Wp, added .htaccess and changed permalinks. Everything has worked fine until a couple a days ago when I started to get 400 Bad Request errors when updating things from the Dashboard. The full error message is:

Bad Request
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
Client sent malformed Host header

The first time it occurred was when I tried to install All-in-one-SEO pack. Most things I can work around by uploading things by FTP, but the biggest problem is that I cannot change the permalink settings except back to default (which I did, and now I’m stuck with “not-so-pretty” links).

I can change some things (like themses and editing files) but not all (like changing permalink setting) without the 400 error.

Any good tips or workarounds?

My troublesome site is https://www.gnurf.net/v3/ (clip art, cartoons and portfolio links at the top don’t work at the moment due to the permalink problem)
