]]>Error 406 – Not Acceptable
Generally a 406 error is caused because a request has been blocked by Mod Security. If you believe that your request has been blocked by mistake please contact the web site owner.
An “invalid format” error prevented the request from completing as expected. The format of data returned could not be recognized. This could be due to a plugin/theme conflict or a server configuration issue.
This was when hosted at Siteground.com.
However, after I deactivated and reactivated the plugin, then it seemed to work.
So I would suggest that people give this a try, should they encounter this error.
Also watch the “NETWORK” panel in Chrome when trying to diagnose, that is always a help.
When I use the Back button to return to the page, it looks like the changes were saved but if I go to a different admin page and then return to the settings page for Bot Block, none of the settings were saved.
The Statistics box says nothing has been blocked yet.

]]>I can’t seem to save the changes on the Settings for Brute Force Protection all the way to the bottom of the Settings.
How do I go about this? Please help.

]]>I spent this afternoon browsing through Google and the WordPress forums but none of the solutions that I tried worked. I went back through all my files to make sure that the CHMOD was as outlined on here: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Hardening_WordPress#File_permissions. If I remember correctly, all of the folders and files were more or less as they should be, and changing the CHMOD made no difference.
I also disabled all of the plugins but that didn’t fix the problem either. Before and after disabling them, I noticed that I could not save settings for them either.
Yesterday, I backed up my website through FTP. I also had an incident where my website kept returning a 500 error that the server tech said was related to bad code in my .htaccess file. I removed the code (that had nothing to do with WordPress–it was for webtree) and my website came back up. Those are the only two things that I did that might have caused me to screw up something.
Since my website is business related, I would really appreciate it if ya’ll might have suggestions about how I can fix this. I would really like to update my site.
Thanks!
