Trying to add a category description but shows "Category not updated."

I need a category page to show a custom text but I can’t add anything at “category description”. It seems like a bug, but I am not sure. I need to add something there before it shows the posts in the category.

Category not updated problem can be conflicted due to having the same name of category and tags… So just check your names of category and tags in which you are getting error at updating time because tags and categories are assigned in same table…

I am managing my categories and when trying to change the name & category parent and then pressing “edit” as I did with several other categories with success.. I get an error message “Category not updated”.

I tried looking up the issue, and the only thing I found is to make sure the name and slug are unique (which they are) and they are not default categories, they are ones that were made by us.

So I have this problem, trying to change category slug and it doesn’t work… I think it cause I had the same tag tittle, I removed it but problem is still there… My thinking, if its still in mysql not letting me use that slug? If yes, where can I find it in db, and how do I get rid of it? any help appreciated, thanks!

A little more information would be nice when things like this popup.

Specifically, I am trying to change the slug of a category to correct a typo (lkand instead of land) but each time I get this message.

Having dumped the database to a sql file I was able to locate a tag with the same slug and correct it, however a more verbose error message would have been a little more helpful.
