This is an issue that I’ve created and I’m genuinely not sure how to fix it.
This afternoon I stupidly changed the URL’s in the General setting part of wordpress. Now the site isn’t working right at all.
I’m having trouble explaining whats wrong, as I’m not very good with the technical terms.
Here is the link: https://46.32.240.33/ravensnestpainting.com/
As you can see the site is not displaying properly.
Also, when I try to login to the backend, at first it would 404 the login page. So I googled help and it took me to this page: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL
I followed the first instruction, and it made the login page come back:
https://46.32.240.33/ravensnestpainting.com/wp-login.php
But again, its not displaying properly. and whenever I try to login in it tells me: “ERROR: Cookies are blocked or not supported by your browser. You must enable cookies to use WordPress.”
I have followed the troubleshooting for cookies but it is still giving me that error.
Now I’m totally confused, have I entered the wrong URL into the code in the above fix?
This is what I put:
define(‘WP_HOME’,’https://46.32.240.33/ravensnestpainting.com/wp-admin/’);
define(‘WP_SITEURL’,’https://46.32.240.33/ravensnestpainting.com’);
Is that causing one of the problems?
Also why is the site displaying without any of the CSS or theme? and how do I fix the cookie error?
If anyone can help me with this I’ll be hugely thankful.
]]>I’ve mapped ‘oldsite’ subdomain to root directory of my 1and1 webserver so that my old site is still accesible.
Despite changing the urls on phpmyadmin it still won’t work.
I’ve tried updating the wp-config and functions.php over FTP – and I still get a blank screen.
URL is oldsite.lincsmulticlean.co.uk
interestingly i get an error if you go to the /wp-admin page instead of a blank screen. hope someone can help because the solution just doesn’t work for me! :s
Thanks
]]>I go to website1.com/wp-login.php and enter my user name and password, but then in redirects me to devsite01.web.com/website1/wp-login.php. When I try to login through that screen, it tells me I need to enable cookies. My cookies are enabled.
I have no idea what is happening (I’m not very advanced with coding, but I’m guessing the issue is in one of the .php files…?). Also, I’m not sure if this information helps, but the site works fine except some of the pages still link to devsite01.web.com/website1.
If anyone has any ideas of why this is happeneing or what to do to fix it, please help. I’ve been dealing with this the last two days and I feel as if I’m getting no where. Thank you!
]]>Can you point me to the proper place(s) in the source code where the database install and search/replace code is generated? Depending on if I grok it, I might want to hack in some custom bits to help with moving my multi-site network.
