When I updated the domain for the site it automatically changed it in the settings, e.g. [email protected]. I changed it back to the old one in the settings. After saving it, it shows the old one correctly.
However, when it’s trying to send an email I’m getting an error:
2024-11-20 03:29:08 CLIENT -> SERVER: EHLO newdomain.com.
Why is it trying to log into the mailhost’s server using a domain that I’m not asking it to use?

“Find the NS records on your subdomain’s settings page and replace them with the following values.” Not sure about this step…
THANK YOU in advance for you advice

I want to change the URL to www.jamesperryexamcoaching.com
Trouble is www.jamesperryexamcoaching.com is hosted by WIX.

]]>I am really new to wordpress, and working in the nonprofit field we are forced to wear many hats. Well a hat I adopted was managing the website, and we two days ago we migrating our wordpress site from an in-house server to bluehost shared hosting. With this we are now using a new domain.
The site is: www.tlpchicago.org
Anyways, in the migration process images and some widgets are not working properly. I keep getting the ? icon, or a broken image icon on the header images.
If someone can help me solve this issue that would be really great. I have tried:
-Re-uploading the header images to each page
-Using the search and replace plugin to change all the urls to the new one
-Making sure all the media files have the new url
Any help, or guidance is appreciated.
]]>Recently I had change to domain that was being pointed to my server. As in, the original domain is no longer in service. olddomain.com no access so bought newdomain.com and ventured towards manually moving errrrythang…
So here is what I did:
1. Transfered all the files manually
2. Exported/Imported db
(At this point the website shows up all broken)
3. Finally updated the website URL in db wp_options > siteurl from old.com to new.com
(At this point the website shows up formatted correctly but all menu URLs point other websites)
Then it gave me the following errors:
On home Page – Notice: Undefined offset: 1 in /var/www/vhosts/pro-elobooster.com/httpdocs/wp-includes/class-wp-admin-bar.php on line 38
On Wp-Admin – You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.
If I go back and redo the step 3 I’m back to seeing the broken website.

The lazy me says “screw trouble shooting its a needle in a hay stack, build the website from scratch”
The non-lazy me says “keep on pushing until you find a solution.”
Thank you for all your help in advanced – this community rocks

How would I go about getting the wordpress blog moved over to the blog.company.com URL while keeping it on the same hosting service? What effects would this have on SEO and how could I help mitigate negative impact?
]]>The problem is, since the switch, I’ve been encountering problems they say they can’t fix. They are WordPress problems. I have read some documentation in codex that has fixed one problem, but the other documentation I’ve found is confusing me.
My main issues now are:
– When reloading the page (and sometimes when viewing it for the first time), a website does not show up, only a list of words that were on the site. What can I do to make the website show up correctly each time?
– When the website does show up as it should, my menus are gone. I have 3 menus with the theme I’m using, 2 at the top and one in the footer and none of them show up at all.
– None of my pictures are showing up. I looked in the media section and they all still have the old url as the location of the media files. I have installed the Velvet Blues Update URLs plugin per instructions from some of the codex documentation, but that did not work. It said “Success your URLs have been updated” but nothing changed. I logged out, logged back in, still nothing. The old URLs are still showing as the location for the media files.
Can anyone give me any help? I have created this site for a client, switched it over and now I’m having these major problems. I really need some help with this please.
