I tried to deactivate all the plugins excluding Brizy Pro as the website was designed on that. But there was still the “choppy scrolling” issue coming up.
I am using Blocksy theme. What I have realised that as soon as I select the Brizy template while editing Homepage, the header and footer goes away and the homepage scrolling becomes smooth again.
I have read numerous answers to similar problems but none of them worked for me. I can’t afford to change the theme now as I have nearly completed the whole website. Also, the issue is just on Chrome and Opera for some reason.

]]>However I ran into an issue. While the animation when using Ken Burns effect was great on Firefox. On Safari & Chrome it was janky. It would jerk pixel-to-pixel around.
In researching a bit, it turns out that the jQuery library used to do this effect, is actually deprecated and unmaintained because: “CSS animations are a better solution now”.
Is there any chance of getting an updated version of this, that does a hybrid of javascript/CSS to get the same effects? So that animation can be smooth on all browsers?

Second, but this is more frivolous, but the post title and excerpt that accompanies the thumbnail just pops up while the thumbnail (background image) slides in or fades in. There is no built in theme option to make the title/excerpt fade in or slide in as well, I have spent all morning trying different tweaks in the .JS files but everything I do breaks the theme or makes the title/excerpt disappear..
Any suggestions/hints?

]]>Factors to help diagnose the problem:
* To get the video to play well, I need to let it play for 20 seconds or more (while it’s choppy) and then pull the dial back to the beginning to restart the video. After two or three times of restarting like that, it’s smooth.
* I use: HostGater shared server for hosting and Chrome for my browser. (I emailed HostGater and they said it’s not a problem on their end since the video is linked to YouTube. Although wouldn’t it still need to run through HostGater? )
* My embed code looks like this: <p style=”text-align: center;”><iframe src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/z-qNdhcuUHM” frameborder=”0″ width=”500″ height=”281″></iframe></p>
